OSRS Initiate/Vesta Pure Guide: Questing, Training & Gear

OSRS Initiate/Vesta Pure Guide: Questing, Training & Gear

Today, we'll learn how to build an Initiate (20 Defence maxed) pure account to PK from scratch, and not only that, but we'll do it in the most optimal and fastest way, so you don't have to waste time on unnecessary things that you'll realize later. With this guide, you'll find exactly what you need to do, so just follow it, and you're good to go. Are you interested in buying a fully completed account? We have Initiate’s / Vesta's Pure Accounts and many others ready for combat—every day.

The Ideal Initiate/Vesta Pure Stats

Ideally, these accounts shouldn't exceed 85 Combat.

A Pure Initiate account is known for typically having 50 Attack, 99 Strength, 99 Ranged, 85 Magic, 63 Prayer, and, of course, 20 Defense. This is to increase the usability of better DPS armor like Vesta' Armor while keeping Combat as low as possible to continue fighting Pures and some low-level zerkers.

  •   Ranged: 99 (Your primary source of damage).
  • Strength: 99 (Ideal for your Special Attack Potential KO weapons)
  • Attack: 50-60 (Enough for Barrelchest Anchor and Granite Maul)
  • Defence: 20 (Train this with quests only)
  • Prayer: 31-55 (for Smite and preserve)
  • Magic: 85+ (Essential for  Greater Corruption and  Mark of Darkness)
  • The Great Brain Robbery (Barrelchest anchor)
  • A Kingdom Divided (unlocks Arceuus Spellbook)

Adamant Gloves from Scratch

Since this account will end up using Adamant Gloves, the easiest way to start explaining how to build a perfect account would be to do Recipe for Disaster subquests. Check out our OSRS Adamant Gloves Guide

If you can't or don’t want to see the guide, here are the steps in summary:

All that remains is to max out our skills: 99 Strength, 99 Ranged, 50 Attack, 63 Prayer, and 85 Magic. Then we'll be ready to PK.

Let's begin with Prayer.

Prayer Training

Gilded/Chaos altar

  • You can use Daganoth Bones until 52-63 Prayer. You can use Gilded Altar if you like to AFK/Simplier or you can go try at Chaos Altar in the Wilderness.

We have a more detailed guide on how to level up Prayer and its different methods, just in case the method we show here isn't the best for you.

After finishing Prayer, we'll level up Ranged and then Strength. The order doesn't really matter; you can do it however you like, and if you get bored with one method, you can switch to another to avoid the “burn out”.

Ranged Training

Ranged Training (1-45)

  • Sand Crabs or Cannon using Mithril/Adamant darts.

Ranged Training (45-99)

  • Chinning. Head to the Monkey Madness 1 tunnels. Here will get you over 200k-500k XP per hour. You'll hit 99 in just a few days of heavy grinding.

Strength Training

Strength Training (1-99)

  • Camp Sand Crabs on Zeah Island. Make sure to bring food and super potions for higher EXP per hour. They have high HP and zero defense, making them the ultimate AFK training spot for a 20 Defense pure.

  • Alternatively, players can train strength through nightmarezone if they have at least 43+ prayer for protection players or can use absorption potions.

Magic Training

Training Magic is easy; you can simply use the splash or alch (or both at the same time) method until you reach level 85. There's always the option to train Magic faster by completing Monkey Madness 1 and Desert Treasure 1 and going for Bursting at MM1 caves but it's very time-consuming and takes a lot of effort. All you need is Magic level 85 for this account build (which doesn't take long) to PK in this setup with Greater Corruption and Mark of Darkness, spells from the Arceus Spellbook. You can also train 99 Magic, as your Combat Level isn't significantly affected by it; plus, it adds an interesting PK style for a change of path whenever you feel bored. While only 85 Magic is required for Bounty Hunter—yes, that's true—you can also train it up to 94–99 if you want a multi-PK account. With these Magic levels, you can utilize other interesting spells, such as Vengeance or Ice Barrage, for use in the Deep Wilderness.

Splashing/Alching (1-62)

For a better explanation, you can check our complete Magic Splashing Guide.

Bursting (62-99)

If you decide to go Ice Burst/Barrage, the MM1 cave is the best place to train until you complete the MM2 quest, from 62 magic onwards.

Minigame Items

Infernal

The best items for the Cape slot is one of the most difficult item to obtain in the game—especially if you are a new player. These items is called the Infernal Cape (for Melee) and the Quiver (for Ranged).

The Infernal Cape is obtained by defeating TzKal-Zuk in The Inferno. Acquiring these untradeable items can take multiple attempts, which consumes supplies and—more importantly—time. Fortunately for you, we have a team of professionals offering Infernal Cape who can secure these items for you on the very first attempt, without fail. What are you waiting for? Contact us, and you can have your desired item today—effortlessly.

Quiver

The best item for the Range slot is one of the most difficult items to obtain in the game—especially if you are a new player. Its called Quiver (for Ranged). The Quiver is obtained by completing Sol Heredit in the Fortis Colosseum.

we have a team of professionals offering Quiver Services in case, for any reason, you do not wish to obtain the item on your own.

Once we reach 85 Magic, we can start using the new Arceuuus Spellbooks that we'll be using while PKing with this specific account, which are called:

Greater Corruption & Mark of Darkness

Greater Corruption

  • When cast, it basically drains your opponent's prayer points over time, making it easier for you to Smit them.

Mark of Darkness

  • Corruption spells will always inflict corruption on your next successful hit, up to a 50% chance.

Account Ready to PK!

Once you have:

  • 99 Strength
  • 99 Ranged
  • 85 Magic
  • 20 Defence
  • 31-55 Prayer
  • The Great Brain Robbery (Barrelchest Anchor)
  • A Kingdom Divided (unlocks Arceuus Spellbook)

We're almost ready to jump into Bounty Hunter or PvP, all that's left is to choose an outfit that fits your budget. If you want to buy gold safely, you can do so through our Livechat on our website.

And that's how we complete this perfect Initiate/Vesta pure build for characters who want to try PKing with 20 Defense. This guide was highly focused on accounts that want to keep their attack on 50 to fight pures and kill them easily; by this, I mean that if this isn't a priority for you, you can raise your attack to 60 or even 75, and the possibilities for potential weapon variations would expand much more. Good luck with your grinding!
