OSRS SOTD Pure Guide: Quests & Training Methods

OSRS SOTD Pure Guide: Quests & Training Methods

OSRS SOTD Pure accounts are identified by their very low combat level but ability to use the Staff of the Dead to abuse Magic DPS, Teleblock, and the Staff's Venom ability, which gradually depletes the enemy's food supply. On this account, we won't use melee weapons; our primary skills will be Magic and Ranged. They tend to have only 65 to 75 Combat skill, which allows them to attack most of the bots in the Wilderness while also engaging PK accounts that roam the area. In this guide, we'll outline the exact quests, training methods, and gear setups you need to create the ultimate SOTD Pure from scratch. Are you interested in buying a fully completed account? We have SOTD/Volatile Pure Accounts and many others ready for combat—every day.

This account build is often confused with the Volatile Pure Account Build, but it's actually a different type of account, although similar. Volatile accounts don't have combat stats; it's best to consult the detailed guide on our website.

The Target Stats

The idea is to maximize the core skills, without increasing HP too much, to keep our combat low.

  • Magic: 95 (Teleblock, Fire Surge)
  • Attack: 75 (Toxic Staff of the Dead)
  • Ranged: 32
  • Strength: 40
  • Defence:
  • Prayer: 1-13
  • Hitpoints: 70+ (You need enough to survive a high DPS combo).
  • Magic Imbued Cape
  • Any Halo (Castle Wars Tickets)
  • Horror From the Deep (God Books)
  • Animal Magnetism (Ava’s)
  • Mithril Gloves

Leveling up all your skills and completing quests for this build can take hundreds of hours. If you'd like to skip all the hard work, our professional team can help. You can order our Services here

Magic Training (1-13)

Splashing

Wear full Iron Armour and a Goblin Staff to reach a negative Magic attack bonus. Splash on rats in Draynor Village. This is 100% AFK and doesn't gain Hitpoints XP.

Once we have at least 13 Magic, we can continue with our quest grind:

Melee Training

Strength Training (1-40)

Follow this order to reach 45 Attack and 36 Strength only through quests

  1. Waterfall Quest: 13,750 Attack & Strength XP. (Do this at Level 3!)
  2. Vampire Slayer: 4,825 Attack XP.
  3. Tree Gnome Village: 11,450 Attack XP.
  4. Fight Arena: 12,175 Attack XP.
  5. The Grand Tree: 18,400 Attack XP.
  6. Death Plateau: 3,000 Attack XP (Plus access to Climbing Boots).
  7. Horror from the Deep: 4,662.5 Strength XP.
  8. Scorpion Catcher: 6,625 Strength XP.
  9. Children of the Sun: Unlocks Varlamore for Crab.

Attack Training (1-75)

Next, we will increase Strength by 40 and Attack by 75 at the Varlamore Crab

If you want a more high detailed OSRS Mithril Gloves Guide you can check it here.

Mage Arena I & II

Completing this minigame is essential, as it is simple and the reward it provides will aid us throughout the entire account build and after being ready aswell.

If you want a more high detailed Mage Arena 2 Guide you can check it here.

Halo & Decorative Armour

These items are obtained by exchanging Castle Wars Tickets at the Castle Wars shop, costing a total of 115 tickets for a halo and a decorative piece.

Obtaining these tickets can take anywhere from hours to days without the right method. We have professionals who will gather tickets - Castle Wars Minigame Services, on your account while you are offline/busy.

And congratulations, you have the best slot in head and body for SOTD Pure Accounts. If you want, you can collect more tickets for more clothing items.

Now we will proceed to increase the main stats for this build, which are:

Ranged Training (1-85)

Dwarf Cannon

Do the Dwarf Cannon quest and safely set it up at Rock Crabs or Ogres. We'll use this method throughout the entire Ranged leveling process since this specific method doesn't give us XP hitpoints, which is essential in this build to not be at a high combat level.

Magic Training (55-85)

Splashing & High Level Alchemy

There are other, faster methods, but this is the one that best fits most people's budgets within a reasonable timeframe. These methods are also essential in this type of build account since they will not give us hitpoints.

Imbued Heart Boost

The great thing about this PK build is that with the help of an Imbued Heart, we can raise our Magic with the biggest boost in the game, which will allow us to enjoy the privileges of having 90 Magic while being around level 65 Combat.

  •   85 Magic + 9 Boost = 94 Magic. This is an item that should be almost mandatory, given the number of levels it grants; it is permanent and does not decrease over time for seven (7) minutes.

Account Ready to PK!

Once you have:

  • Magic: 95 (Teleblock, Fire Surge)
  • Attack: 75 (Toxic Staff of the Dead)
  • Ranged: 32
  • Strength: 40
  • Defence:
  • Prayer: 1
  • Hitpoints: 70+ (You need enough to survive a high DPS combo).
  • Magic Imbued Cape
  • Any Halo (Castle Wars Tickets)
  • Horror From the Deep (God Books)
  • Animal Magnetism (Ava’s)
  • Mithril Gloves

As we already know, the Toxic Staff of Dead has a perk that allows you to poison your opponents. You can use this strategically: poison them, then attack with Fire Surge or Zarmak Strike (for example). As the poison's damage increases, you can stack it into a powerful combo and finish with Dark Bow Special Attack and Dragon Throwaxe. If your combo and the odds aren't in your favor, you can still try to kill your opponent with Teleblock and by depleting their food inventory. Remember to keep your HP high, as there are many anti-PKs out there. Good luck!
