The F2P options for firemaking training are quite limited compared to members. The fastest method of training is simply burning logs. This method offers the best XP rates in F2P and requires no setup or complex mechanics.
As you progress, you should burn the best logs for your level to maximize experience rates. They provide significantly more experience per log, increasing your XP rates. Firemaking is also commonly paired with Woodcutting, as players can cut and burn logs on the spot for efficient training. This cuts the costs of training firemaking and saves time by eliminating the need for constant banking.
Axes
To get the best XP rates, use the best axe for your level. You can cut logs with it when it is in your inventory if you meet the Woodcutting requirement, but wielding it (with the required Attack level) saves an inventory space for better efficiency, which will slightly increase XP rates.

Another important factor when it comes to burning logs is the location. Burning logs is done from east to west, and the process will stop if there is an obstacle. This is why you should burn logs where there is enough space to burn an entire inventory of logs.
This area has a lot of space, and a bank is close by so you can quickly retrieve more logs. There are also several trees scattered around if you plan to train woodcutting as well. While burning here, players can burn up to 1,485 logs per hour.
Using this location is a bit slower since the bank is farther away, but it can still yield decent results. There are also several regular and Oak trees around the west bank where can train woodcutting as well. Burn from east to west close to the fountain where there are no obstacles to get the best XP rates.
Just north of the Lumbridge castle, there are several trees where players can cut logs from. The location shown below is a good place to burn an entire inventory of logs without interruptions.
Players can use the Forester’s campfire to burn logs as an AFK method for firemaking training, but they will earn only one-third of firemaking XP compared to burning the logs normally. Forester’s campfire can be created by using logs on a existing fire. They deplete more slowly than regular fires.
To get the best XP rates when burning logs, timing is key. If done correctly, you can move one tile between lighting each log, allowing you to burn them in a straight line—typically from east to west.

A total of 16,227,822 GP (61 normal logs, 183 oak logs, 535 Willow logs, 1,572 Maple logs, and 63,016 Yew logs) and 43 hours, 34 minutes, 42 seconds are required to get to 99 wooductting using the fastest f2p woodcutting methods above.
These methods provide a cheaper path to 99. However, they are still quite expensive and will take longer.
