Fire giants are tall red monsters with a combat level of 86. They are popular for training ranged and slayer and require only level 65 combat before they can be assigned as a slayer task. Many players do not skip them since they are simple and give good slayer XP. Additionally, they have a chance to drop the rune scimitar.S
There are 10 locations where players can kill Fire Giants. However, in this guide, we will focus on the 2 best locations based on ease of access and number of spawns. A wilderness location is also added since it is the only place to complete Krystilia's assignment.
Stronghold Slayer Dungeon: there are 12 level 86 Fire giants spawns in this location. The fastest way to get here is through the Slayer Ring or the spirit tree from the grand exchange.
Catacombs of Kourend: There are 12 level 104 and level 109 Fire giants in this location. The fastest way to get here is through the portal chamber or nexus in a POH attuned to Kourend Castle. Alternatively, players can use Hosidius's page in the Kharedst’s memoirs, or fairy ring CIS.
Deep Wilderness dungeon: there are 5 level 86 Fire giants in this location. One of the best ways to get here is from the deserted Keep which can be reached from the Edgeville lever.
Fire Giants are weaker to stab than any other melee attack style, so it’s best to use your best stab weapon against them.

Fire giants attack with only melee and have a max hit of 13. Players with high defence levels can tank the hits from them while using food to heal. In the Stronghold cave, there is a bank outside where you can get more food if you run out. If you have low to medium-level defence, you would be taking too much damage so it is better to use Protect from Melee and bring prayer potions. The best spot to set up your cannon is highlighted with the icon shown below in the Stronghold Cave.
A major drawback of the Catacombs of Kourend is that the Dwarf multicannon cannot be used. However, since it is a multi-combat zone, multiple fire giants will attack you at once, making it more AFK-friendly. Using Prayer potions further increases AFK time by eliminating the need for food. When the giants lose aggression, simply run a few tiles away and return to reset it.
If you prefer to safespot the Firegiants, there is a safespot in the Catacombs of Kourend, along the east wall just beside the ramp down from the Mutated Bloodvelds shown above.
Players should only use the Deep Wilderness location when doing Wilderness Slayer, otherwise, it is not worth the risk. It is a single-way combat zone, meaning you can only be attacked by one fire giant at a time, making it less AFK.
Players can safespot Fire giants in the Deep Wilderness Slayer dungeon using the location shown above, next to the Monk of Zamorak.
The Average Fire giant drop is worth 1.2K or 2K GP when on a Konar task.
