OSRS Cave Kraken Slayer Task Guide: Strategy & Gear

OSRS Cave Kraken Slayer Task Guide: Strategy & Gear

The Cave Kraken is a popular mid-to-high-level Slayer boss providing solid profit with minimal damage risk. Assigned by higher Slayer masters, it is a recommended task for passive magic training and Kraken tentacle hunting. This guide does not refer to Kraken Boss, this guide is specifically for people who want to kill Kraken Cave tasks quickly, the small monsters.

If you'd like to see a more detailed guide for Kraken, the boss version of the Cave Krakens, please check our osrs kraken boss guide here.

How To Awaken The Krakens

1. Regular variant: Use Trident spells on each whirlpool to spawn and attack. Auto-retaliate off for AFK-style kills.

2. Boss variant: Disturb the whirlpools to spawn tentacles, then attack Kraken directly. Use Protect from Magic if low defence. You can also check out a more detailed guide for the Kraken Boss.

Strategy for Cave Krakens

For regular Cave Krakens, stand out of melee range as they only attack with magic, meaning normal positioning acts as a safe spot. That's why we specify using some armor for chest and legs that has a lot of magic defence to maximize the time on trips. It's as easy as just clicking twice and AFKing until the monster is dead. Then repeat until the task ends or until you have to bank. It's recommended to bring High Alchemy Runes and rune pouches.
