OSRS Construction Training Guide Leveling 1-99 Fastest

OSRS Construction Training Guide Leveling 1-99 Fastest

Construction has so many benefits as it allows players to own a house and add different features to it, giving them abilities to teleport to different areas, rejuvenate, and even fulfill specific requirements for quests and achievement diaries. However, training construction is click-intensive and costly; it involves repeatedly building and removing furniture in a player-owned house.

To start construction, players must buy a house from one of the estate agents or complete the daddy’s home miniquest. A starter house costs 1,000 coins and will be located in Rimmington. 40 magic is required to cast the teleport-to-house spell, or you can use house tablets to teleport to your house.

This guide is intended specifically for main account players; if you are an Ironman player, we recommend you refer to this guide instead.

Why Train Construction?

Training Construction allows you to build and upgrade your Player-Owned House, which provides:

  • Instant teleports across Gielinor
  • Restoration pools (HP, Prayer, Run Energy, Special Attack)
  • Spellbook altars
  • Jewelry boxes and portal nexuses
  • Fairy rings and spirit trees in one location

With 83 Construction, you can build nearly every useful POH feature. At 99 Construction, you unlock one of the best skillcape perks in the game: unlimited teleports directly to your house.

Construction is also:

  • One of the fastest 99s in OSRS
  • Extremely powerful for PvM, clue scrolls, and quest efficiency
  • Great for PK’ers to regain spec and health and instantly teleport back into the action
  • Highly customizable depending on your budget

Construction Training Paths Explained

There are two main ways to train in Construction:

1. Traditional Construction (Fastest XP)

  • Build and remove furniture inside your POH
  • Extremely fast experience rates
  • Very click-intensive
  • Expensive, especially at higher levels

2. Mahogany Homes (Cheaper & Relaxed)

  • Repair furniture in NPC houses across the OSRS world
  • Much slower XP per hour
  • Significantly cheaper
  • Lower click intensity

Note: If your goal is the fastest 99, traditional Construction (1) is the best choice.

Recommendations for Training Construction

Resizeable Mode

You should set your windows as resizeable and widen the game client slightly so that there is some space between the chatbox and the right-hand side control panel, this would help minimize mouse movements, making construction training significantly easier.

The Eyes Of Glouphrie

This quest requires completion of The Grand Tree, 5 construction, and 46 magic. It rewards crystal saw seed which can be used on the singing bowl by Brimstail to get the enchanted crystal saw. The crystal saw allows the player to build furniture up to 3 levels higher than their current construction level but would only provide this boost for furniture that requires both a saw and a hammer.

Plank sacks

The plank sacks hold a total of 28 planks of any type. Servants can’t deliver the planks into a plank sack which makes it a poor option for construction training in a Player-owned house but it is highly recommended for Ultimate Ironmen and when playing the Mahogany Homes minigame.

Menu Entry Swapper

This runelite plugin allows players to change the default left-click and shift-click options that are displayed when hovering over any in-game object or item. Using this plugin removes the need for the player to continuously right-click when training construction.

Ironman Construction Tips

  • Mahogany Homes is highly recommended
  • Kingdom of Miscellania provides logs
  • Butler plank conversion is the fastest
  • Sawmill vouchers (Forestry) reduce costs
  • Tempoross and PvM supply noted planks

Types of Servants

Having a servant is very important when training construction. A servant is an NPC that players can hire for various services in their player-owned house, These servants can help players fetch or deposit different planks, saving them the time they would need to unnote their planks from Phials. Players can hire servants from the Servant’s Guild, which is located north of the marketplace in East Ardougne as shown below

All servants request a payment after every eight trips, the amount requested by each servant is shown below

  •   Rick: Players need to have a construction of 20 to hire Rick who requests for a payment of 500 coins. He can only deliver 6 items at a time.

  •   Maid: Players need to have a construction of 25 to hire Maid who requests for a payment of 1,000 coins. She can only deliver 10 items at a time.
  •   Cook: Players need to have a construction of 30 to hire Cook who requests for a payment of 3,000 coins. He can only deliver 16 items at a time.
  •   Butler: Players need to have a construction of 40 to hire Butler who requests for a payment of 5,000 coins. He can deliver 20  items at a time.
  •   Demon butler: Players need to have a construction of 50 to hire the Demon butler who requests for a payment of 10,000 coins. He can deliver 26 items at a time.

Fastest Method of Training Construction

Level 1–8: Daddy’s Home

Daddy’s home is a miniquest where the player helps Mario’s father renovate a recently squatted home. Building pieces of Furniture

This method of training involves building and removing furniture in a player-owned house. It is the fastest way of training construction after the completion of the daddy’s home, Lower tiers of furniture require the player to have a hammer, plank, and nails but as the player’s construction level increases they can build higher tiers of furniture which require only a certain type of plank to be built. With this method, the player will continuously receive construction experience every time they build furniture. To get the fastest construction experience rates, the player should build the furniture that offers the highest construction experience for their level as shown below.

Alternative Methods of Training Construction

Making Teak Garden Benches

The teak garden bench can be made in the seating space of the superior garden in a player-owned house and requires a saw and a hammer. Making Teak Benches is quite similar to gnome benches, it requires practice to get precise timing and accurate clicks. However, it is cheaper and significantly slower, it requires 6 teak planks and gives the player 540 construction experience.

Requirements For Building Teak Garden Benches

  •   66 construction
  •   Saw
  •   Hammer

Experience rates when Making Teak benches

Players can expect experience rates between 600,000 to 500,000 experience per hour.

  4. Build and remove two doors, leaving the second one built.

Building Mounted Mythical Capes

A mounted mythical cape can be built in the guild trophy space of the quest hall in a player-owned house. It requires three teak planks and a hammer before it can be built and offers the player 370 construction experience when built. It is generally not advisable to train with this method since it costs the same as making oak larders, and it is just as click-intensive but yields lower experience rates.

Tip: Have an equipable item in your inventory. In case you make a mistake and cannot remove a mounted mythical cape because your inventory is full of planks. You should equip the item to free up space in your inventory.

Requirements for Building Mounted Mythical Capes

  •   47 construction
  •   Dragon Slayer II

How to Build Mounted Mythical Capes

  1. Send the servant to get more teak planks when you have 6 teak planks in your inventory.

Mahogany Homes

Mahogany Homes is a construction minigame in which players complete contracts for various NPCs in Falador, Varrock, East Ardoune, and Hosidius, it mainly involves repairing furniture in different NPCs houses. This is a cheaper and easier alternative to the methods above. Players should have teleports to all four cities such as teleport tablets, runes or Charged Xerics talisman for Hosidius.

Players can start by speaking to Amy in Falador

This would allow them to start taking contracts depending on their construction level.

More contracts can be gotten from:

  • Marlo in Varrock

  • Ellie in East Ardougne

  • Angelo in Hosidius.

  • Expert

1,082,254 GP per hour. With a plank sack: 1,255,354 GP per hour

Conclusion

Construction is one of those skills that could be considered "pay-to-win," as leveling it to 99 with money tends to be one of the fastest skills to train, allowing you to reach level 99 in just days or even hours. There are also options to train through minigames, such as the one released in the new update, "Mahogany Homes," for which we have a specific guide that you can find here. As I was saying, there are cheaper ways to reach level 99 in Construction, but obviously, it would take much longer than if you had money to spend. I hope you get your Construction 99 cape sooner rather than later! Good luck with your grind!
