Fishing contest is a quest where the player has to earn the friendship of two dwarven brothers by securing a fishing trophy for them. Afterwards, they allow the player to use the dwarven passage underneath the mountain.

General Questing recommendations

  • Enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section. 
  • Hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.

Item Requirements for Fishing Contest

  • 5 coins: or 10 coins if you buy fishing rod from Jack.
  • 1 Red Vine worm
  • Garlic: obtainable during the quest.
  • Spade
  • Fishing rod: obtainable during the quest.

Red Vine worm: Dig the red vines in Mcgrubor’s wood in Camelot.

  • 1 Combat Bracelet
  • 1 Camelot Teleport

 

Walkthrough of Fishing Contest

  • Talk to Vestri just north of Catherby. Reply 1, 2, 3, 1, 1.
  • Enter Hemenster with your fishing pass.

Vestri

  • Speak to Bonzo to start the competition. Reply 1. 

Bonzo

  • Put garlic in the pipes.

Wall pipe

  • Catch the winning fish, a raw giant Carp, at the fishing spot near the pipes
  • Speak to Bonzo again after you have caught the winning fish. Reply 1. Wait, and you will receive a fishing trophy.
  • Bring the trophy to Vesti just north of Catherby, where you started the quest to complete it.
