OSRS Abyssal Sire Guide: Strategy & Gear Setup

OSRS Abyssal Sire Guide: Strategy & Gear Setup

The Abyssal Sire is a level 350 Abyssal demon slayer boss that requires 85 slayer to kill and players must have visited the Abyss at least once to access its lair. The Sire can only be fought solo, and when assigned an abyssal demon or itself as a slayer task, like other Slayer bosses.

Players can expect valuable items like the Abyssal whip, dagger, Abyssal head, jar of Miasma, or rarely the Abyssal orphan when killing the Abyssal Sire. Players also have a chance to receive the Unsired which can be put at the Font of Consumption for a reward like Bludgeon claw, Bludgeon spine, or the Bludgeon axon which can be combined for the Abyssal bludgeon.

Location of the Abyssal Sire

The Sire is located in the Abyssal Nexus, south of the Abyss for Runecraft. There are four chambers in the Nexus where Sire is, allowing multiple people to fight it per world.

Here are the fastest ways to get here:

  • Fairy ring DIP
  • Mage of Zamorak: Players without access to the Fairy ring, players have to enter the Abyss through the Mage of Zamorak and go south. This method will drain all your prayer points, so it is not recommended.

Abyssal Sire Attacks

Standard attacks

In phase 2, Sire uses three types of melee attacks. Use protect from melee to reduce their max hit to 6, 6, and 26 respectively.

Miasma Pools

miasma pools.

This pool causes damage to a 3x3 area, dealing 10-30 poison damage per tick. This damage can be prevented by using poison protection, and there is enough time to avoid all damage by running 2 tiles away. In phases 1 and 2, Sire will clench its claws to its stomach before performing this attack. However, there is no animation for the attack in Phase 3.

Abyssal Sire’s Minions

abyssal sire's minions

In all phases of the fight, Sire can create spawns that attack randomly with ranged for 9 damage and melee for 4 damage. They have 15 hitpoints and low accuracy. After 12 seconds, a spawn will mature into a scion which has higher health and accuracy that hits up to 16 with ranged and up to 10 with melee.

Forced Teleport and Explosion

Abyssal Sire can use this attack twice during the fight.

  • In phase 2, If the player tries to safespot the Sire, it will teleport them next to it and discharge a blast of energy from the portal in its stomach for up to 60 damage if the player does not move.
  • In phase 3, when the Sire is under 140 health, it will teleport the player next to it again and trigger an explosion. Move away immediately to avoid damage.

Overview of the Fight

Respiratory system and tentacle of Abyssal sire

In phase 1, the player must kill all four respiratory systems, which are protected by six immobile tentacles. When the tentacles are active, they prevent all damage to the respiratory system and attack nearby players for up to 30 damage. These tentacles are inactive in phase 2 and become active again in phase 3. Players can stun the Sire and its Tentacles for 30 seconds by one of the following methods:

  • Cast a shadow spell on the Sire
  • Deal 75 damage to the Sire with ranged/magic

Strategy for the Abyssal Sire and its Phases

Phase 1

The Sire awakens when attacked. If not stunned, it will summon miasma pools under the player and create spawns. The tentacles will attack and prevent damage to the respiratory systems. Players must kill all 4 respiratory systems to advance, requiring the Sire to be stunned to damage them.

Phase strategy: Use a Shadow spell on the Sire to stun it for 26 seconds. While stunned, use ranged to attack the respiratory systems. You can kill 2 to 3 respiratory systems before you have to stun the Sire again to kill the rest of the respiratory systems. When all respiratory systems are killed, switch to melee gear and protect from melee. Start with special attacks on the boss, then continue to attack it

Phase 2

Players must stay on row 1 during this phase as attacking it from outside melee distance will cause the Sire to teleport you to itself and use a damaging blast of energy. Sire will also use melee attacks, miasma pools, and create spawns. Once Sire is damaged to below 200 health, it will start walking south.

 phase 2 abyssal sire

Phase strategy: continue attacking with melee while protect from melee is turned on till it gets below 200 health and ensure you stand on row 1.

Phase 3

This phase has 2 different stages

Stage I

At the start of phase 3, Sire will not use its melee attacks. It will summon miasma pools at a faster rate and create spawns, making it harder to see the pools. Once it is damaged to below 140 health, it will teleport the player close to it, indicating the start of the second stage.

Stage I strategy: When Sire gets below 200 health, move to any of the tiles in row 2 shown in the image and turn on protect from ranged. Continue to attack with melee while moving between the 2 tiles to avoid damage when it throws the miasma pools.

Stage II

The Sire will teleport the player to the western tile on row 2 and after two ticks, it will explode, dealing high damage if the player does not move. After the explosion, Sire will create numerous spawns and use its miasma pool attack at least 3 more times, then stop as long as 15 minions are left alive.

Stage II strategy: when you get teleported close to Sire, run south, then return to the tiles after the explosion attack. Continue attacking the Sire with melee while praying ranged. Ignore the spawns and switch tiles when it throws the miasma pools.

GP per hour from the Abyssal Sire

Players can kill Abyssal Sire 25 times per hour with the recommended stats and gear above.  This results in a profit of 2.3M per hour after the cost of supplies has been deducted. Profits will be higher with an Osmumten’s fang and Blood barrage for healing, leading up to 30 kills per hour.
