Araxxor is weak to crush, so it’s best to use a crush weapon throughout the fight. Stand close to him, attacking with the weapon while using protect from melee.
Araxxor attacks with melee, but if the player is out of his melee range, he will try to close the distance and attack with either magic or ranged - whichever of the player’s defence bonuses is lowerIts’s attacks can inflict venom on players.
Below are all of Araxxor’s attacks. The best way to avoid damage from them is to stand close to Araxxor and turn on protect from melee.
At the start of the fight, eggs in the arena will start to hatch, starting from one in the southeastern most part of the room. The egg that hatches determines the special attack that Araxxor will use throughout the fight. After the first egg hatches, the other eggs will start to hatch afterwards, in a clockwise direction. You can kill the eggs but Araxxor will skip that egg and hatch the next one, so it’s not worth it.
Araxytes are the monsters that hatch from the eggs. The green egg hatches into the Acidic Araxyte, white into the Mirror Araxyte, and Red into the Ruptura Araxyte. Below shows the attacks of the Araxyes and how to kill them
These monsters attack with ranged that deal up to 7 damage. If killed, they will explode and splatter acid in a 7x7 AoE surrounding it. Kill the Acidic araxyte with a high ranged or strength weapon, you should be able to do a max hit of 22 with each hit so 2-3 hits should kill it. Watch out for the acidic pool that spawns when it dies.
These deflect 50% of the damage dealt to it back to the player. It will also reflect 25% of the damage dealt to Araxxor to themselves and direct 50% of that damage to the player. Kill the Mirroback araxyte with a heavy ranged weapon like heavy Ballista to get the max hit on it.
These do not directly attack the player but will move towards them and explode when in melee range. The damage from the explosion is proportional to its health, with full health able to deal up to 80 damage. You should move 2 tiles away from it to not take damage. Since the explosion can hit nearby NPCs as well you should lure it to Araxxor before moving away.
Araxxor will use three standard attacks before she hatches an egg or uses a venom special attack. She will always alternate between those 2 actions during the fight. The first egg that hatches determines the venom special attack that Araxxor will use. Below is the special attack that Araxxor will use based on the egg that hatches first.
If the first egg that hatches is the green egg. Araxxor’s venom attack for the whole fight is the Acidic ball. Araxxor launches a projectile that flies straight from his direction to the player. The ball has a 3x3 AoE. Standing in its way will deal 18 venom damage. These will explode when they hit a wall and splatter acid on a 7x7 AoE from impact. Move out of the way to avoid damage from this attack.
If the first egg that hatches is the white egg. Araxxor’s venom attack for the whole fight is the Acid splatter. Araxxor will launch venom blobs in a wide arc around the player which will leave acid pools behind and hit for low venom damage. This is the easiest one to dodge, as the player only needs to move away from the arc of venom blobs.
Arraxor will direct a single venom blob on the player, filling them with venom and leaving pools behind as they move for 6 ticks. Just keep moving not to take any damage. Walking during this attack or clicking on a tile at a time is recommended.
Araxxor enters his enraged phase when he reaches 25% of his health. He will coat his 2 front legs with venom and increase his defence level by 35, magic level by 28, ranged level by 31, and attack speed from 6 to 4 ticks. Araxxor will no longer use the venom attacks but will continue to hatch the eggs. He also uses his Cleave attack in this phase.
If you have high DPS, you can ignore the araxytes and finish the kill. If not, you have to kill them as well. You should attack once and move a few tiles back anytime Araxxor says “skree!” to avoid damage from her.
After Araxxor is dead, the player must choose to harvest or destroy the boss’s corpse. Harvesting it will give the regular rewards but destroying it will forfeit all rewards, excluding elite clue scrolls, for a doubled rate of the pet.
Each Araxxor kill is worth roughly 45K GP. Making the Noxious halberd and Amulet of rancour increases this 142K GP per kill. Experienced players with the recommended stats and gear above can kill Araxxor 35 times per hour. This results in a profit of 5.3M GP after the cost of supplies has been deducted.
