OSRS Best Dwarf Cannon Spots

 OSRS Best Dwarf Cannon Spots

Using a cannon is a popular way to gain very high Ranged XP rates and one of the quickest ways to train ranged, but it comes at a cost. Cannons could fire up to 6,000 cannonballs per hour, and while cannonballs aren’t overly expensive, the sheer quantity used makes this method costly.

However, some locations allow players to break even due to valuable drops from the monsters there, while others offer higher Ranged XP but lack profitable loot. These factors are key when choosing the best cannon spot, as this guide outlines.

Since cannons can fire 6,000 cannonballs per hour and each one costs 210 GP currently, the cost of using a cannon for a full hour is 1.26M GP.

About 14 Ogres spawn near Castle Wars and 8 in the combat training camp. These are multi-combat zones and these Ogres can be cannoned to get high ranged XP. For Pures or players who prefer not to take any damage, it’s best to cannon them at the Combat Training Camp, since they are caged and can’t retaliate.

Cave Horrors

cave horrors

Cave horrors are slayer monsters found in the Mos Le’harmless Cave, requiring 58 slayer, a witchwood icon, and a light source. They are quite profitable to kill due to their black mask drops, which can help break even or turn in a profit when using cannons. Additionally, they drop the hard clue scrolls at a decent rate.

Hill Giants

Hill Giants have relatively low defence for their level, which makes them great for ranged training, especially with a cannon. They drop herbs, runes, and some alchables, which can help cut down the costs of cannonballs. Additionally, they drop the Giant key which could be used to access Obor’s lair.  The best place to cannon them is at the Giant pit shown below, since there are 13 clustered spawns, making them ideal for cannoning.

Ice Trolls

ice trolls

Ice Trolls are excellent for ranged training with a cannon, as they drop various alchables that can offset or even surpass the cost of cannonballs. However, they hit hard, consistently dealing 20s, so protect from Melee is recommended. Their higher defence compared to other monsters on this list also results in lower ranged XP rates.

The best place to cannon them is north of Jatizso since it has a bank south of the area filled with several ice trolls. Ensure to use the fremennik shield to significantly reduce damage from their hits.

Additionally, they drop mossy keys which grant access to Bryophyta’s lair, which can result in profits, further improving profits.

The Varrock sewer is a great place to cannon them. There are 6 spawns clustered together, improving ranged XP rates.
