Blackjacking is a thieving method in Pollnivneach in which players use a blackjack to knock out bandits or thugs and pickpocket them while they’re unconscious to earn thieving XP. It is profitable and the fastest method of training thieving between levels 45 to 49 and then from 65 to 84. However, it is very click-intensive.
As previously mentioned, players can do blackjacking at Pollnivneach. Here are the fastest methods to get here:
Rogue equipment
The rogue equipment is a set of equipment that increases the chance of receiving double loot by 100% when the full set is worn. Wearing an incomplete set still gives a chance of receiving double loot, but it is lesser. Players might receive a piece of the rogue equipment when opening a rogue’s equipment crate. The rogue equipment crate is obtained by successfully opening the safes at the end of the Rogue’s Den minigame. The set requires level 50 agility and thieving to wear. The full set comprises a rogue mask, top, gloves, trousers, and boots.
Blackjacks
Blackjacks are used to lure and knockout NPCs in Pollnivneach. There are several Blackjacks, all of which are the same when used to knockout NPCs. However, they have different combat bonuses, with higher tiers able to stun enemies for longer.
The Maple blackjack(o) is mostly used for blackjacking NPCs since it is the best offensive blackjack available. Players must have at least level 30 attack and 30 thieving to equip and use it. It can be purchased from Ali Morrisane after completing the Rogue trade miniquest.
The steps for blackjacking any NPC are the same
At level 45 thieving, you should blackjack the bearded Pollinvnian bandit. These bandits are located in the northern part of Pollnivneach, between the general store and the rug merchant. They always wield a blackjack and can easily be spotted by their distinctive appearance, shown above. They have a combat level of 41 and grant 65 thieving XP and 40 coins per pickpocket.
At 55 thieving, players can now blackjack the Pollnivian bandits who do not have beard. They wield a steel scimitar and are in the same area as the bearded Pollinvian bandits. They have a combat level of 56 and grant 84.3 XP and 50 coins per pickpocket.
At 65 thieving, you should blackjack the Menaphite thugs in the southern part of Pollnivneach. They have a combat level of 55 and will always reward 137.5 thieving XP and 60 coins for every successful pickpocket
The menu-entry swapper plugin on RuneLite allows players to change the default left-click and shift-click options displayed when their cursor is over an in-game object, item, or NPC. It is very helpful when blackjacking as players can set the left-click option to pickpocket so they don’t have to right-click each time they want to pickpocket the NPC.
To set the left-click option to pickpocket. First, ensure the menu-entry swapper is turned on in RuneLite then hold shift and right-click the NPC. Click the “swap left pickpocket” option to set the left click as pickpocket.
Ensure your inventory is full every time, as it reduces the chance of the NPC stunning you. Jugs of fines are the best food to eat when blackjacking, since after a player drinks a jug of wine, the empty jug remains in their inventory. Players can also purchase them from Ali the Barman in the Asp & Snake Bar in Pollniveach which is very close. If you prefer to bring noted food, you can also unnote them with the Banknote Exchange Merchant next to the Pollnivneach General Store in Pollnivneach. He will charge 5 coins per item.
