OSRS Corporeal Beast Guide: Strategy & Gear setup

OSRS Corporeal Beast Guide: Strategy & Gear setup

The Corporeal Beast is a well-known Wilderness boss with several valuable drops, including the spirit shield and sigils like the arcane, elysian, and spectral. While it can be a challenging fight, taking it on with a solid team that knows the mechanics makes it a lot easier and more profitable.

Location of the Corporeal Beast

The Corporeal Beast’s Lair is located in a cave in level 21 wilderness. The cave is not part of the wilderness, so it is safe. Entering the cave through the wilderness is not recommended since the area is filled with several PKers. The safest and fastest way to get here is by using a Games necklace. Alternatively, players can use a basic jewellery box in their POH.

It costs 200,000 coins to open a group instance. Players ranked as Captain or above in a clan chat can pay the instance cost for their clan. When the instance is open, anyone from the clan chat can enter it at no cost.

The combat stats you need to kill the boss depends on the team you are going with. However, here are the minimum stats you should have

When using Melee:

  • hitpoints85+ hitpoints
  • attack85+ attack
  • strength85+ strength
  • defence94+ defence
  • prayer70+ prayer

When using Ranged:

  • hitpoints90+ hitpoints
  • ranged90+ ranged
  • prayer74+ prayer

You should also have at least 80 magic when using either combat style since it increases your magic defence and helps reduce the damage you will take.

Other Recommendations

Restoration Pool

restoration pool

It is highly recommended to have a restoration pool or better in your POH since most Corporeal Beast strategies rely on using special attacks. It requires 65 construction and can be built in the pool space of the Superior Garden. Alternatively, players can pray at the Elidinis Statuette in Nardah after the completion of the Spirits of the Elid quest.

Since the Corporeal Beast has a high Defence level. A good strategy to lower its defence is to use the following special attacks:

  • 4 Dragon Warhammer Special attack hits
  • 12-15 Arclight Special attack hits
  • 300+ Bandos Godsword special attack hit

Strategy for Groups in the Corporeal Beast

You should attack the Corporeal Beast with either melee or ranged, and turn on protect from magic throughout the fight. It’s recommended to use melee since the Corporeal beast is weaker to it. Ensure there is always one person attacking the boss, or he will reset his health bar. The strategies to avoid each of his attacks are shown below.

The Corporeal Beast’s attacks

The Corporeal Beast has a combat level of 785 with a hitpoint of 2,000. It has a melee, magic, and stomp attack with maximum damage of 33, 65, and 51 respectively. It has very high defence and a 50% damage reduction against most weapons that are not Corpbane weapons on stab attack style. The Corporeal Beast has very high accuracy and protect from Magic does not completely block its magic attacks, instead, it reduces the damage by 33.33%.

Melee attack

The Corporeal Beast will use a melee attack 40% of the time if you are in melee range. Protecting from melee will block all damage from this attack. It’s best to pray against magic even when in melee range, since it can deal the highest attack.

Magic attack

The Corporeal beast’s magic attacks are the most dangerous of all his attacks. This is why you should always pray against magic when facing him. There are 3 different types of this attack and they all look differently as shown below

  • A regular magic attack with a maximum hit of 65
  • A Magic attack with a maximum hit of 55 and a chance to drain Magic or Prayer by 1 or 2 if successful. The Corporeal beast will also heal 50% of the damage dealt from this attack, rounded down.
  • A Magic attack with an AoE of 3x3 which splits into 6 smaller projectiles. The main projectile can hit up to 40 damage if it lands on you, or 30 if it lands next to you. While the other projectiles can hit up to 30 if they land on you, or 20 if they land next to you.

Stomp attack

The Corporeal Beast will perform a stomp attack if the player steps under it. This will always damage the player between 30 and 51. Ensure you don’t stand under the Corporeal beast during the fight, as this is the main cause of death when facing him.

Dark Energy Core

Dark energy core

The dark energy core drains between 5 and 13 hitpoints from the health of players adjacent to it within a 3x3 area. The Corporeal Beast has a 1/8 chance of sending out this attack when it is hit for 32 damage or when it attacks when its hitpoints are under 1,000.

The dark energy core usually follows the player at the northernmost part of the cave. It will follow the player on the eastern side of the boss if there is no player on the northernmost side.

There are two ways to avoid damage from this attack

  • Players can just kill the core. It is not recommended since another one will spawn.
  • Move two tiles away from the dark energy core anytime it approaches you. This way, you won’t waste any time as you can attack the Corporeal beast while dodging it.
  • Players can use the emerald bolt (e) and mithril crossbow to stun the dark energy core. This stops it from moving for about 10 to 15 seconds. This is recommended for large teams and one player can focus on doing this.

Stat regeneration

The Corporeal can regenerate each drained stat once every 12 seconds, regardless of whether players are in the room. If players are not in the room, it will fully heal after 3 minutes if no one has attacked it.

Corporal Beast Room for Ironman

corrupted beast room for ironman

Ironman with at least 90 combat level have access to a separate Corporeal Beast room.

To do this method efficiently, you should have a restoration pool and a fancy jewellery box in your POH. After dealing each special attack hit, teleport to your POH, restore your special attack bar, then use the fancy jewellery box to return. This takes around 10 to 15 seconds. Do this until you have got the hits mentioned above. This takes a while, but it is faster and safer than soloing the boss without special attacks.

GP per hour from Corporeal Beast

Every kill from the Corporeal Beast is worth 420K GP, but this drops to 131K without getting any of the sigils. This results in a total of 2.2M GP after the costs of supplies have been deducted.
