The Corrupted Gauntlet is a very popular solo minigame in Prifddinas. During the minigame, players are given time to gather resources and kill corrupted monsters within a dungeon. In the end, players have to kill the Corrupted Huntlef, the boss of the minigame. It is a level 674 wolf-like monster which is quite tough and requires some practice to kill consistently.
Players are not allowed to bring any item into the Gauntlets. All items players wear when they enter the minigame will be automatically stored. Also, skill boosts will be removed when they enter the Gauntlet. The Gauntlet area contains several gathering methods for players to make weapons, armour, potions, and food described below. This area also contains resource nodes, herbs, and fish which can be obtained through mining, woodcutting, and fishing.
Completing the Gauntlet is a popular money-making method as players are awarded various loot like corrupted armour seeds, enhanced corrupted weapon seeds, and the Bow of Faerdhinen. If you leave early or die during the minigame, you will be awarded a small token reward based on your performance, but there is no chance of getting any of the unique drops. Note that this minigame is dangerous and hardcore ironmen would lose their hardcore status if they die.
The entrance to the Corrupted Gauntlet minigame is located northwest of Prifddinas. Click on the portal there to enter it, and then click the portal north to start the minigame. You can return to Prifddinas by clicking the portal at the center. When you start the minigame, you will be in the starting room. A corrupted sceptre, axe, pickaxe, harpoon, pestle and mortar, and teleport corrupted will be in your inventory, and you will be wielding a corrupted Sceptre. These items are needed to explore the nodes.
Players can use any of the following items to get to Prifddinas quickly: Teleport corrupted, Prifddinas teleport tablet, Teleport to house if your POH is in Prifddinas, Spirit tree, Iowerth camp teleport, charter ship or a necklace of passage to Jorral’s outpost.
The Corrupted Gauntlet is a more challenging version of the Gauntlet. Here are the main differences between these two versions:
Players are supposed to gather food and resources from the resource nodes to make armour within a limited time (7 minutes) which would be needed to face the boss, Hunllef. Every room in the Gauntlet contains a resource node and may have monsters, except for the starting and the boss rooms.
There are five types of resource nodes. Each resource room contains a maximum of 5 of any resource node or a combination. Here are the different types of resource nodes:
Collecting resources from the resource nodes will randomly reward the player with corrupted shards.
Nine different types of monsters can be found within the resource rooms, which can be categorized into 3 types:
These monsters always drop the weapon frame used to create the lowest-tier bow, halberd, or staff. They also drop
In the Gauntlet, players can make any of the following weapons:
corrupted bow (ranged),
corrupted halberds (melee),
corrupted staff (magic)
These weapons are available in three tiers:
The armour pieces in the gauntlet are helmets, bodies, and legs. Each piece has three different tiers that can be upgraded, similar to weapons.
Corrupted Tier 1 armour (basic)
Each piece (helmet, body and leg) of tier 1 amour requires 1 Ore, 1 Linum, 1 Bark, and 40 corrupted shards. For a total of 3 Ores, 3 Linums, 3 Barks, and 120 corrupted shards,
Corrupted Tier 2 armour (attuned)
Corrupted Tier 3 armour (perfected)
Each piece of tier 3 amour requires 2 Ore, 2 Linum, 2 Bark, and 80 corrupted shards. For a total of 6 Ores, 6 Linums, 6 Barks, and 240 corrupted shards,
The Corrupted Hunllef is always located in the center of the 7x7 grid of the Corrupted Gauntlet and lies adjacent to the starting room. The Hunllef is a level 674 monster with 600 hitpoints. He can protect against the player’s current attack style after every sixth attack, so you should bring weapons with different attack styles to defeat him.
This Section shows the fastest method to obtain the resources needed for the equipment and inventory setup within the limited timeframe (07:30)
The Gauntlet plugin is not required, but it is recommended when starting. Under the resources tab, you can input the right quantities of each resource you want and turn resources overlay. While running through the rooms, pick up everything you need by following the overlay. When the number in the overlay goes to zero, you have obtained all the resources you initially inputted.
Boss room
When you have enough food, good gear, and are ready to face the Corrupted Gauntlet. Enter the boss's room by passing the barrier to begin the fight. Ensure you learn all his attacks and the best strategy to defeat him, described below. At the end of the 7-minute and 30-second timer, players will be automatically teleported to the final room (boss room) if they have not manually entered.
Hunllef’s standard attacks
The Hunllef has two standard attacks; magic and ranged attacks. The damage from these attacks can be reduced using the correct protection prayers and wearing the corrupted armour pieces. You can predict when Hunllef is about to switch attack styles as it stomps the ground each time
Ranged attack
Hunllef will always start the fight with its ranged attacks.
Magic attack
Hunllef’s magic attack will occasionally disable all the player’s prayers. He makes a distinct sound when he is about to do this attack. You should use this as a signal to prepare for the attack
Hunllef’s Tornadoes
Hunllef can summon 1 to 3 tornadoes simultaneously, depending on his hitpoints. These tornadoes will chase the player and deal 10-20 damage if it catches them. These tornadoes disappear after 20 ticks (12 seconds). You should avoid the tornadoes by running away as they approach you, and wear higher tier amour pieces to reduce the damage.
Hunllef’s Stomp attack
If a player is underneath Hunllef when it tries to perform an attack, it will perform a stomp attack, which deals up to 68 typeless damage. Always avoid Hunleff melee range to avoid this attack
Orange tiles
During the fight, the floor tiles randomly turn crimson and then orange. It turns orange quicker towards the end of a fight against the Corrupted Hunllef. Standing on the orange tile will deal 10-20 damage per tick. You should avoid them as they can quickly drain your hitpoints. The best way to do this is by avoiding the corners. Don’t stand too close to the corners, unless running away from tornadoes.
