The Crazy Archaeologist is a relatively simple boss to kill, and he is great for players who are just starting to do boss fights, he is a crazy individual named Bellock located in the ruins south of the Forgotten Cemetary in level 23 wilderness. The crazy archaeologist is one of the three wilderness bosses who drop one of the three shards of the malediction ward and odium ward. Killing him is also a popular way for ironmen to obtain the rune crossbow without having the fletching or smithing requirements.
These are the minimum requirements for fighting crazy archaeologists, however, higher combat stats would increase the players' kills.
Similarly to fighting other wilderness bosses, the player should only bring 3 to 4 expensive items since there is a possibility of getting killed by PKers. Although it is easier to escape from them since the players can teleport from the Crazy Archaeologist location (level 30 wilderness), they can still get teleblocked

The Crazy Archaeologist can be found in the west ruins in the wilderness, These ruins contain many tiles and roughly 10 planks scattered about with many giant spiders and bears. It can be found west of the Bandit Camp and south of the Forgotten Cemetery.
The fastest ways to get there are shown below:
Since you will be entering the wilderness, first ensure that the player attack option is set to hidden so that you don’t get skull-tricked, and also ensure you have the right items that would be kept on death. The Crazy Archaeologist can be killed easily with the recommended stats and gear shown above. Despite having high magic defence, he has a low magic level, which makes him weak to Magic attacks. Even players with low magic accuracy can still hit him consistently. Hence, it’s best to attack him with magic. It’s recommended to use a good magic weapon like the Trident of the Seas while keeping your distance and protecting from missiles. He mainly uses ranged and melee attacks, except these, he has a special attack explained below
The Crazy Archaeologist has a special attack of explosive books, he usually says “Rain of Knowledge” when he performs this attack. It comprises 3 books in the air that will slowly land and hit a 3 x 3 area. The best way to avoid this attack is to always keep a good distance from him, run towards him until you are two squares away, and stand there until books have exploded. Make sure you don’t get too close to him so he does not attack with melee then repeat the same steps over and over again, although you might still take some damage, it will be significantly lesser.
If you don’t want to use magic, the best choice would be melee, However, his defensive stats are very high and players cannot protect from all his damage when standing close to melee him as they can when attacking with magic. For this option, you should use high-ranged defence armour like Torag’s armour with a good melee weapon like the Abyssal whip while using protect from melee since you’d be standing close to him.
After each kill, I suggest hopping worlds so you don’t have to wait for him to respawn.
It is possible to kill the crazy archaeologist without taking damage. This can be done by luring him behind the obstacles to the north of the area, attacking him, and quickly running back behind the obstacle, this method is called flinching, and it is popularly used to kill other bosses as well.
The average Crazy archaeologist kill is worth 16,348 GP based on the prices of the items shown below. Players with the recommended combat stats and gear above can do up to 27 kills in one hour, this results in a profit of approximately 250,000 GP per hour.
