OSRS Dark Beast Slayer Guide: Strategy & Locations

OSRS Dark Beast Slayer Guide: Strategy & Locations

Dark beasts are large monsters with a combat level of 182. They are good slayer tasks and should not be skipped since killing them gives good slayer XP rates and is quite AFK. This is because they become permanently aggressive to the player no matter how long they stay near. Additionally, they have a chance to drop the Dark bow.

Dark Beasts’s Attacks

Strategy for Killing Dark Beasts

The best strategy to kill Dark Beasts is to pray protect from melee and attack them with melee while wearing your gear with the highest DPS. This way,  they will use their melee attack instead of magic since you are close to them, and you won’t take much damage. You could use a cannon, but it's not worth it, since it will aggro them from a distance and make them use magic more often.

Drops from Dark Beasts

The Average Dark Beast kill is worth 5K GP, 6.6K GP when on a Konar task, or 7.4K when killed in the Iorwerth Dungeon due to the additional chance of receiving a crystal shard as a tertiary drop.
