OSRS Ernest the Chicken Quest Guide

Ernest the Chicken is a free-to-play quest where players investigate the mysterious disappearance of Ernest, who entered Draynor Manor for directions and never came back. One of the earliest quests ever created, it was also the first quest released after RuneScape’s original launch.

General Questing recommendations

• Enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section. 
• Hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.

Requirements for Ernest the Chicken

• The ability to defend from a level 22 Skeleton.
• Spade (can be obtained during the quest) 
• Fish food (can be obtained during the quest) 
• Poison (can be obtained during the quest)

Recommendations For Ernest the Chicken

• Fast travel to Draynor Manor (Draynor Manor Teleport or Amulet of Glory)
• Food (If lower hp, a lvl 22 skeleton and dead trees attack you)

Walkthrough of Ernest the Chicken

• Talk to Veronica just outside of Draynor Manor. Reply 1 to start the Ernest the Chicken quest.
• Enter Draynor Manor.
• Go upstairs and pick up the fish food.

• Pick up the fish food in the south room.

• Go back downstairs and pick up the poison from the northwest room.
• Pick up the poison from the north-west room.
• Use the poison on the fish food.
• Pick up the spade in the east room. Exit the manor through the door in the same room.
• Search the compost heap west of the manor.

• Use the poisoned fish food on the fountain southwest of the manor..
• Go back to the manor's ground floor.
• Enter the small room north of the staircase with the key and pick up the rubber tube. Watch out for the Skeleton that will attack you.
• Search the bookcase in the west room to enter the secret room.
• Climb down the ladder into the basement.

• Pull down lever A.
• Pull down lever B.
• Pull down lever D.
• Pull up lever B.
• Pull up lever A.
• Pull down lever F.
• Pull down lever E.
• Pull down lever C.
• Pull up lever E.
• Pick up the oil can in the west room.
• Talk to Professor Oddenstein on the top floor. Reply 1, 2. 

• Give Professor Oddenstein the items to finish.
