The Fire Cape is widely regarded as one of the most iconic and powerful melee capes in OSRS, second only to the Infernal Cape. It is awarded to players who successfully complete the challenging TzHaar Fight Cave, an intense minigame that tests combat skills and endurance. The Fight Cave consists of 63 waves of progressively tougher battles against various TzHaar creatures, each with unique attacks.
At the end of the battle, players face TzTok-Jad, a formidable boss renowned for its devastating attacks. Defeating TzTok-Jad is a quite tough, but it is also the final step in earning the prestigious Fire Cape.

This is the first enemy players have to kill in the fight caves. Each hit from this monster will drain the player’s prayer points, whether they are successful or not. They are the easiest to kill, but conserving prayer points for consecutive waves is quite difficult when facing them due to their prayer-draining effect. If you plan to kill TzTok-Jad, you should always kill Tz-Kihs first when you see them or trap them behind larger monsters.
This monster is also weak, but he has a unique mechanics that will reflect 1 point of damage when damaged. When killed, it splits into two level 22 Tz-Keks, which are weaker and don’t have any unique mechanics.
2 Tz-kek(level 22) will spawn after a Tz-Kek (level 45) is killed.
The Tok-Xil has a ranged attack that fires its spine at the players. This attack can damage players within a range of 15 tiles, He also has a melee attack where it punches the player. Both attacks have a maximum hit of 14 damage. Tok-Xil can also be purchased by players to guard the Treasure Room in their POH dungeon, and they cost 5,000,000 coins each.
This monster resembles a tall, lizard-like humanoid that appears in Wave 15. His melee attack is a powerful slash from its claws that hits up to 25 hitpoints. He can also heal up to 10 of its hitpoint and those of other monsters around it once the target drops below half health.
The Ket-Zek appears in wave 31 and an orange variant in wave 62. It has powerful melee and magic attacks, that can damage up to 40. The magic attack can hit players from a 15-tile range and is shown as a fire ball from its tail. It’s best to pray against magic, maintain distance and attack him with ranged.
This monster is commonly known as Jad, He is a level 702, huge, and four-legged monster which is one of the strongest monsters in the game and the boss of the TzHaar Fight cave minigame. It has a max hit of 97 and can kill most players with one hit. It has three attacks: a melee attack with its bite (max hit of 97), magic in the form of fireball (max hit of 95), and a ranged attack in the form of a boulder falling from the ceiling (max hit of 97).
4 Yt-HurKot usually appears when the TzTok-Jad reaches half health in the Fight cave. They will heal Jad if they are within 4 squares of him but will stop healing if interrupted. If you interrupt them before they heal Jad, they will re-aggro him if dragged within 5 tiles of Jad’s southwest tile.
As previously mentioned, players will face several monsters that get progressively difficult to defeat. For beginning waves, only 1 monster will spawn, but up to 6 monsters can spawn simultaneously in later waves.
The image above shows the possible spawns of each monster (green). The long, italy and dragon rocks are safe spots for every monster with the Italy Rock being the best safe spot.
We also advise using the fight cave spawn predictor RuneLite plugin to know what wave is coming and where the monsters will spawn. That way you can always safe-spot the monsters and find the best location for the harder waves. Alternatively, you can check out the tzhaar fight cave rotation on the wiki, and check the spawns of the level 22s in the first and second waves to see what rotation you are on.
TzTok-Jad (level 702) is the final boss for this minigame. He will first spawn in this wave, and then 4 Yt-HurKot (level 108) will spawn during the fight to heal him. Jad uses ranged, magic and melee attacks with maximum hit of 95+. There are several strategies to fight Jad. However, the best strategy to kill him is to safespot him. Here is a detailed guide on defeating him, describing his attacks and the best safespot.
Note that you can log out of the game anytime. If you log out before completing a wave, the wave will restart when you log in. This can be useful to let your hitpoints regenerate in between rounds.
