Forestry is a more social method of training woodcutting; it involves events in specific worlds and locations wherever trees are, except the Woodcutting Guild. Several players participate in these events, improving the experience rates of every player participating. This has completely changed how players can train their woodcutting, instead of hopping worlds to find a free spot, everyone can play on the same world and even get better experience rates.
Although Forestry events can happen in any world, you are more likely to find a larger amount of players at popular tree-cutting areas in the Official worlds. There is also a Forestry grouping chat which follows conventions for calling out Forestry events.

Players can start Forestry by obtaining a Forestry Kit from the Friendly Forester’s Forestry Shop, located in Draynor Village. He will give players this item for free.
This item can be equipped and is available for both F2P and P2P players. It can store any of these tools, resources, and gear that might be needed for Forestry;
Forestry events can occur anywhere even in the wilderness, as long a player wearing a Forestry kit is gathering logs from any type of tree except regular trees, burnt trees, hollow trees, player-grown trees, the Blisterwood tree, and trees in the Woodcutting Guild.
Anytime a player with a Forestry kit is cutting a tree, an event is randomly selected from a table of equally weighted options. This event may be scheduled to spawn after the tree has been felled or during the tree’s lifetime, with a random moment chosen along its despawn time. The odds of an event spawning also increase based on the type of tree and number of participants. The chances of an event spawning doubles for groups of ten or more players chopping at a tree when compared with only one player/ Events will only spawn within a 20-tile radius if another Forestry event is already in progress.
The most popular locations are:
A timer starts after the first cut on a tree in a forestry event, this timer resets if players stop cutting the tree. When the timer reaches a particular time, the tree will despawn. This time differs for every type of tree.
During the rising root event, choppable tree roots will appear around the tree for a certain amount of time. Players will be awarded with Woodcutting experience and anima-infused bark for chopping these roots.
An anima-infused root will often appear, you should always chop these since they provide more woodcutting experience as well as a higher amount of anima-infused bark, scaling with the player’s woodcutting level. You can easily find the anima-infused root due to its green-trimmed colour.
A struggling sapling always appears in place of a felled tree. During this event, players will see droppings, green leaves, rotting leaves, splintered bark, and wild mushrooms that can be used to create mulch which helps saplings grow.
If you collect from any of these resource piles three times, a mulch will be created. The order in which you collect the mulch will determine how good it will be for your sapling. To get the best results, players have to collect them in the right order. The only way to do this is by trial and error. First, collect random resources and use them on the sapling, if a correct pile is in the correct slot order, a message will appear saying “The sapling loves the [resource] as the [first/second/third] ingredient”, continue this process till you find the right combination. Feeding the sapling mulch gives anima-infused bark, woodcutting and farming experience based on how good it is for your sapling.
Tip: Turn on public chat because other players usually announce they have found the right combination.
During this event, flowering bushes and several swarms of friendly bees appear. The bushes come in eight colours: red, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, white, and lilac. Only 2 of these bushes can trade strange pollen with each other. You have to find the two bushes then repeatedly pollinate them and eventually, they will disappear. The right bushes will often change, so you would need to find another pair when this happens.
The player will only need to pollinate each pair once throughout the event to get maximum bark, seeds, and woodcutting experience at the end. The largest amount of woodcutting experience would be received at the end, along with some random seeds and strange fruits.
Players must build the bee hive by using logs they have gathered in this event. This gives woodcutting and construction experience along with anima-infused bark.
In the end, players will receive a larger woodcutting experience, anima bark, and a 2/3 chance to obtain study beehive parts which can be used to build a beehive in a POH. If you are trying to get the sturdy beehive part, you only need to contribute at least one log per unfinished bee hive.
In this event, Three poachers and a Frightened fox will appear. The poachers will try to catch the fox with 14 fox traps, players must disarm this trap whenever they are laid to get some hunter experience and anima-infused bark. If the fox dies too many times, no bonus woodcutting experience or anima bark will be awarded to the players. You only need to disarm at least one trap to be awarded bonus woodcutting experience and anima bark at the end of the event.
There is a chance that the player will receive the fox whistle, which can transform a beaver pet into a fox pet. The chance scales from 1/90 to 1/45 from level 1 to 99 woodcutting.
Players should collect a pheasant egg from an unoccupied or unguarded nest and give it to the Freaky Forester in this event. Players can only take one pheasant egg at a time, and they have to quickly do this unless the pheasant will notice that they are stealing the egg and stun them for several seconds.
For every egg the player delivers successfully, they are given an anima-infused bark, thieving, and woodcutting experience. A larger woodcutting experience is awarded after the end of the event based on your contribution.
There is a 1/2 chance that the player will receive some pheasant tail feathers, which can be made into a Pheasant costume using a needle and thread.
There is a chance that the player will receive a golden pheasant egg while stealing eggs from the nests. The chance scales from 1/2,700 to 1/3,50 from levels 1 to 99 woodcutting.
During this event, a woodcutting Leprechaun will appear and act as a bank deposit box, banking player’s logs for free. No bonus experience is given during this event. But standing on any end of Rainbow that will periodically appear around the area will temporarily increase the amount of anima bark and woodcutting experience, based on the player’s woodcutting level. The Leprechaun will despawn after 50–70 seconds, he will exclaim “I’ll have to go shortly” 38 ticks (22.8 seconds) before he leaves.
This event has a Dryad and five ritual circles. The Dryad will occasionally summon ritual circles with colours (red, green, blue, and yellow) and shapes (square, star, triangle, and hexagon). Out of the five ritual circles that spawn, you have to stand on the unique/odd shape or colour within 15 seconds. Every ritual circle that you stand on with reward you with woodcutting experience and anima-infused bark, based on your woodcutting level.
When the event has ended, players will receive bonus Woodcutting experience and anima bark based on how many circles that got correctly and their woodcutting level.
For this event, friendly Ents will appear and players have to read what they are saying and trim them accordingly. When you right-click them, you have the option to Prune-top, Prune-back, and Prune sides. Players must prune them until they are satisfied.
Here are their requests and how you should prune them based on it:
It is recommended to use the official worlds for forestry to get the best experience rates and rewards. Experience rates depend on the event and the number of players participating.
The anima-infused bark obtained from these events can be used to buy various items from the Forestry shop.
