OSRS Herbiboar Guide: Strategy & XP Per Hour

OSRS Herbiboar Guide: Strategy & XP Per Hour

Herbiboar is a creature in Fossil Island with herbs on its back. Players are rewarded between 1,950 and 2,461 hunter XP for tracking and harvesting it. The process involves following the Herbiboar’s footsteps, which leads to a burrow the player can kick. This causes the Herbiboar to appear and get stunned outside the hole. Players can then harvest it, earning herbs and herblore XP. This is a popular method for Ironman to obtain herbs needed to train Herblore and an easier method of training Hunter.

Herbiboar may also be assigned as a hunters’ rumours task, but only after completing Bone Voyage.

The Graceful outfit is a weight-reducing gear that can be bought from Grace in the Rogues’ den for 260 marks of grace. It provides a 30% increased natural run energy restoration, making it quite useful for hunting Herbiboar since alot of running is required.

Ring of endurance

When this ring is worn, if the player consumes a dose of a stamina potion or mix, one charge is consumed, and 40% of the player's run energy is restored. It can save a lot of inventory space when used in Herbiboar. It is a potential reward from the Grand Hallowed Coffin on the final floor of the Hallowed Sepulchre, requiring 70 agility to equip.

Magic secateurs

Although secateurs are not required to harvest Herbiboar, having a magic secateurs equipped will allow the player to harvest additional herbs. It is obtained during the Fairytale I- Growing Pains quest.

Stamina potions are highly recommended to improve speed as well.

Location of the Herbiboar

Players can start hunting for the Herbiboar in 5 areas indicated by the hunter icon in the Mushroom Forest on Fossil Island.

location of herbiboar

The fastest method to get here is by using the Digsite pendant to teleport to the House on the hill and use the magic mushtree to the Mushroom Forest.

How to Hunt the Herbiboar

To start tracking the Herbiboar, inspect the rock, mushroom, or log next to the hunter icon on the minimap. When this is done, tracks will appear on the floor leading to the Herbiboar's next location. Continue to inspect seaweed, smell and normal mushrooms, and muddy patches around the area the tracks lead to find more tracks until you reach the final location of the Herbiboar, which is usually a tunnel.

Attack the tunnel, and the Herbiboar will come out stunned, then finally harvest the Herbiboar. There is also a chance of failing to track down the creature, and you might need to start again by searching the closest location where the Herbiboar might be.

The best strategy for Hunting Herbiboar is to use the Herbiboar plugin on RuneLite, so it highlights where you need to search for the Herbiboar. Use stamina potions consistently and other recommended items listed above to improve speed and efficiency.
