OSRS Mage Training Arena Guide: Ironman, Profit, & XP Rates

OSRS Mage Training Arena Guide: Ironman, Profit, & XP Rates

The Mage Training Arena is a minigame located north of the Emir's arena. This minigame offers numerous valuable items, such as the infinity boots or mage wand from the shop at the top of the arena. It is a safe activity for Hardcore Ironman, and you will not lose your status if you die here.

The mage training arena also allows players to train magic and get decent experience rates while getting the pizzaz points required to unlock different items. Players must bring different runes to cast spells such as telekinetic grab, bones to bananas, high or low-level alchemy, and jewellery enchantment spells.

Requirements to do the Mage Training arena

Although only level 7 magic is required to participate in the minigame, players must have at least level 33 magic to participate in all four activities in the Mage Training Arena. It is strongly advised to have at least 50 magic before participating in this minigame, as the higher your magic level, the faster you can earn pizzaz points.

  • Full graceful: It is highly recommended when participating in rooms that require running like the Telekinesis theatre and alchemist playground. It can be bought from Grace in Rogues’s den for 260 marks of grace.
  • Rune pouch: the rune pouch can store 16,000 of three types of runes, and it is recommended when in the creature graveyard or enchantment chamber, as different sets of runes can be awarded, which can then be stored in the rune pouch to save inventory space. It can be purchased from a Slayer master for 750 Slayer reward points or Justine’s stuff for the Last Shopper standing for 75 Last Man standing points.

How to get to the Mage Training Arena

As mentioned above, the mage training arena is located north of the Emir’s Arena, northeast of Al Kharid; here are the several ways to get to the Mage training arena:

  • The grouping teleport to the Mage training arena: This teleport is the fastest way to the Mage training arena; it will take you directly to the arena’s entrance.
  • Ring of dueling: You can use the ring of dueling teleport to get to the Al Kharid PVP arena and then run north to the entrance of the arena as shown above
  • Ring of the elements: This will teleport you to the fire altar shown in the image above. You will need to run northeast to the entrance of the Mage training arena.

How to Play the Mage Training Arena

mage training arena rooms

Before you can participate in the Mage Training Arena, you will need to talk to the Entrance Guardian located close to the entrance of the arena; after the conversation, you will be given the Pizazz hat, which is required to enter any of the four rooms within the arena The Mage Training Arena is made up of four rooms known as the Telekinetic Theatre, Creature Graveyard, Enchanting chamber, and Alchemist Playground. These rooms provide different Pizazz points, which are required to purchase any item from the shop, and they all have distinct playing styles, as illustrated below:

How to Play the Telekinetic Theatre

Telekinetic theatre

This room is situated at the southern part of the portal shown above. To participate in the minigame while in this room, you must have at least 33 magic, fire, and nature runes to cast the telekinetic grab spell. The Fire staff or tome of fire is recommended to save costs on runes. This room involves casting the Telekinetic grab spell to move the stone Maze Guardian through a maze to the exit.

There are ten possible mazes, and you must cast the telekinetic grab spell between 7 to 10 times to complete each one. Players can attract the Maze Guardian from any tile around the maze except the corners; if you stand on the Southern part of the maze and cast the telegrab spell on the Maze Guardian, it will move south.

mage training arena runelite plugin

To play the mage training arena efficiently, you should use the Mage training arena plugin on RuneLite; it will show you the correct tile to stand on before casting the telegrab spell on the maze Guardian, allowing you to move the Guardian to the right spot as shown below.

Each maze completed rewards the player with two telekinetic Pizazz points and 250 magic experience. After five mazes have been completed in a row, the player will be offered an additional bonus of 8 Pizazz points, 1000 magic experience, and 10 law runes; if you leave the maze, this will not reset the streak counter.

Hourly cost from Telekinetic Theatre(using Staff of air): 327 Law runes

How to play the Alchemist’s Playground

Alchemist’s Playground

Playing the minigame in this room is click-intensive compared to the other rooms; you must search six cupboards for items and cast either low or high-level alchemy on them to convert them to coins. To get Alchemy pizazz points, deposit the coins obtained into the coin collector above. For every 100 coins deposited in the coin collector, the player will receive one pizazz alchemy point, 10 coins, and 2 magic experience.

One of the cupboards is always empty, and here are the items that can be found in the other five cupboards: Leather boots, Adamant kiteshield, Adamant med helmets, Emeralds, and Rune longswords; each of these items randomly get one of the following values: 1, 5, 8, 15 and 30 and change position every 35 seconds.

To play the minigame in this room efficiently, ensure you have a stack of nature runes and a fire staff or tome of fire to save costs on fire runes when casting alchemy spells. You should always cast your alchemy spell on the item with the highest amount of coin, as shown on the interface above.

When you turn on the mage training arena plugin in RuneLite, it will point out the exact point you must first search any of the cupboards, and then the plugin will point to the cupboard holding the item with the highest value, which is 30. A timer resets every 35 seconds, after which the item with the highest value will change, so you must only take the number of items you can alch within that timeframe.

Hourly cost from Alchemist’s Playground (using a staff of fire): 854 nature runes

How to play the Enchanting Chamber

Enchanting Chamber

In this room, players must enchant various shapes located in the four corners using enchantment spells; this grants enchantment pizzaz points and transforms the shapes into orbs. Each orb can be deposited into the chute in the middle of the room to earn additional rewards; this is unnecessary, but it is a faster way to drop the orbs.

You need to have a stack of cosmic runes and a staff to represent the runes you need, this will help you save costs when casting any enchantment spells. The fastest way to get enchantment pizazz points is to stay at any of the corners, fill inventory with the shapes there, and enchant all of them with your best enchantment spell as quickly as possible.

Hourly cost from Enchanting Chamber (using a staff of earth): 1,200 Cosmic runes

How to play the Creature Graveyard

Creature Graveyard

For this room, you need to collect and convert bones into fruit using the bones to bananas or peaches to spell. Then, the fruits must be deposited into the food chute along the walls, as shown above, to gain graveyard pizazz points.

This room has four types of bones; each gives a different quantity of fruit when converted, as shown on the right side of the image above. Every 16 bananas deposited into the food chute will provide you with 1 Graveyard pizazz point, but you will be awarded 2 Graveyard pizazz points if peaches are used. You will also be awarded one water, earth, nature, death, or blood rune.

Falling bones regularly hit and damage players. You can escape this by moving away from the tile where the bone is falling. If you take too many hits, you should eat the Banana or Peaches you have in your inventory after casting the spell.

While using the RuneLite plugin, at the top left part of the screen, you will see a number that represents the number of fruits you will get from the bones in your inventory; you should pick bones from the bone pile closest to the food chute till this number is at 20 before depositing them in the food chute. Repeat this process to get graveyard pizazz points as quickly as possible.

Hourly cost of Creature Graveyard (using a staff of water): 311 Nature runes, 1244 Earth runes
