The Moons of Peril consist of 3 spirits known as the Nagua imprisoned in Neypotzli, a prison located beneath Cam Torum, which is unlocked during the Perilous Moons quest. Killing them is not hard and can be done consistently with mid-level combat stats. Players will be rewarded with several valuable rewards and armour sets similar to the Barrows.
Completion of the Perilous Moons quest: this acts as an introduction to bosses.
Players can enter the Neypotzli from the northernmost end of Cam Torum. Here are the fastest ways to get here:
Calcified moths: These are single-use items that can teleport players to Cam Torum. It requires partial completion of Perilous Moons and can be obtained by using a calcified deposit on an anvil with a hammer.
Quetzal Transport System
There are 2 methods to get there with the Quetzal transport system:
While in the Neypotzi, a strategy to find a way to your destination is to open the minimap and hover your cursor on the yellow squares in the corner of each room, as shown above.
You should fight the Moons of Peril with melee gear, as they are very resistant to magic and ranged attacks.

A great thing about Moons of Peril is that you don’t need to bring supplies, making it ironman-friendly. Neypotzli contains a selection of foods and potions that surpass those found elsewhere. Upon leaving Neypotzli, all food will disappear, and potions will be reverted into vials of water. You should only bring combat gear and emergency teleport. Players can obtain all tools to create potions, gather resources, and cook food from the Campsites they built during the quest. You can find different resources in the prison by searching supply crates.
There are two food options available, both of which can be found close to the campsite
The moonlight potion is the only type of potion available in Neypotzli. It gives the effect of a super combat potion, divine super defence potion, and prayer potion at once, excluding the damaging effect from the divine potions.
Moonlight grub paste is the main ingredient in the Moonlight potion. It can be obtained by picking moonlight grubs from grubby saplings close to both campsites in either cavern. A vial of water and a pestle and mortar are also required.
Follow these steps to create the potion after finding the ingredients
The moonlight potion has 2 doses, but a higher herblore level increases the chances of creating an additional dose or two.
All Moons have a hit point of 500 and a maximum hit of 20. They have an attack level of 258, a strength and magic level of 100, and a defence level of 60. They have +100 melee defence to the combat style they are weak to, along with +500 magic and ranged defence. Furthermore, they can hit a lot harder than their combat level suggests if all three land and hit very high, up to 60 damage in one attack
You should be familiar with the bosses since you fought them during the Perilous Moons quest. Players can fight the bosses in their respective chambers alongside other players in the same room, but each player will individually fight the Moons and can’t be assisted by other players. The attacks of the moons have a unique rule where if one of the hits misses, all hits succeeding will also miss.
Eight sigils surround the Moon, which represents the moon’s cycles. Eyatlalli will imbue one of the sigils during the fight. You should stand on the imbued sigil during non-special attacks or else you will take rapid damage which stacks and can kill your character. The sigil will rotate clockwise after the Moon makes two standard attacks. When it hits a full or new moon, the Moon will initiate a special attack. During a special attack, you can stand anywhere in the arena.
Players will be teleported to one of the 3 campsites when they kill a boss. If one of the bosses dies at the same as a player, the player will be teleported out of the fight with one health point and the fight will be considered a victory.
The Eclipse Moon can reduce all hitsplats dealt to her by 6 since it possesses the 6 flat armour. The hitsplats reduce by 4 during her clone special attacks, and she is weak to stab attacks.
Her Curse of the Moon will reduce your max hit by 12 or 8 during the Clone phase, stating “Binded by the Eclipse’s Moon’s light, your attack glances off its shield”
She will alternate between the following special attacks:
You should walk behind the moon shield to prevent damage during this attack. While walking, you will move at the same pace as the moon shield. It will give you time to turn corners as it pauses at each one. So get behind the moon shield, then focus on walking around the arena. The moon shield will always cover you as it moves at the same pace. After this phase, the highlighted tiles (sigils)will show again so run to it.
To prevent damage, you should face your character to each clone as it spawns. Click the tile in front of the boss to avoid damage. This will send an attack back at the boss
When Eclipse Moon has been defeated, you will be teleported to the Earthbound cavern. Click the east yellow dot to get to the Blue Moon.
When inside the lair, click on the highlighted circles (sigils) as usual to provide damage while attacking the Blue Moon. All hitsplats dealt to the blue moon increase by 5 since she possesses -5 flat armour. Her Curse of the Moon cancels your next attack. It occurs once enough stacks have accumulated:
this is her new moon attack. It will freeze the player’s weapon from their hands and place them into one of the 3 blocks of ice, which will glow with a blue hum. The player must break the block of ice without any weapon. The blocks will plant shards of ice which will shatter, dealing damage if caught in the radius. Players can’t wield other weapons until the block of ice is broken, and they will get 28 damage if they fail to break it.
You should attack the block of ice without weapons while clicking away when the shards appear. When you have dealt enough damage to it, it will break, and you will get your weapon back.
To prevent her from healing, relight the brazier and avoid the storms that deal damage and force you to walk for two ticks. Use the safespots on either side of the brazier.
After the Blue Moon is dead, you will be teleported to the Ancient prison. You should right-click the cooking range there to restore your run energy. Run to the eastern yellow dot and click enter to get to the Blood Moon.
The Blood Moon is the toughest of all 3 as she heals quickly. The Curse of the Moon will heal her up to 3x of the damage dealt. This is indicated by a pool of blood transferring from the player to the boss. Good tanking gear is recommended for this boss. All hitsplats dealt to the Blood Moon increases by 2 as she has -2 flay armour. She is also weak to Slash attacks
She will alternate between the following special attacks:
You should avoid the pools of blood. This is quite easy then continue standing on the highlighted circle as usual.
You should attack the Jaguar next to the highlighted tile and move at the right moment to avoid getting damaged by the Jaguar or the blood pool. Do one attack then click the blood pool as it is about the disappear, it takes some practice but it is easy after a few tries.
After defeating the Blood Moon, you will be teleported to the Ancient prison again. Enter the door south to get to the Ancient shrine to obtain your rewards.
Players with the recommended stats and gear above can kill all 3 bosses 10 times per hour. This results in 2.6M GP per hour. All supplies and potions are from the Neypotzli, so no costs are deducted.
The Lunar chest is found in an Ancient shrine in Neypotzli and can be opened after killing at least one of the Moons of Peril. An average Lunar chest loot is worth 263K GP after all 3 Moons are defeated.
Chances of getting better rewards increase based on the number of Moons of Peril the player subdues. After killing at least one moon boss, the Lunar Chest can be looted
Atlatl dart (72–120 × 1/6), Swamp tar (79–119 × 1/7.5), Sun-kissed bones (6–12 noted × 1/6), Supercompost (6–12 noted × 1/30), Soft clay (15–25 noted × 1/30), Grimy harralander (12–18 noted × 1/30), Blessed bone shards (160–179 × 1/30), Water orb (30–45 noted × 1/15), Maple seed (1–2 × 1/30), Wyrmling bones (42–54 noted × 1/30), Grimy irit leaf (12–18 noted × 1/30), Yew seed (1 × 1/30)
Eyatlalli will exchange certain items found in the Neypotzli for additional rewards.
