Pest Control is a combat-based minigame where players must defend the Void Knight from several monsters and destroy the portals where the monsters spawn. This minigame is quite popular as Pest control points, obtained from playing it, are required to buy the Void Knight armour. It is a safe activity, and players who die will not lose their items or Hardcore Ironman status. Instead, they will respawn on the lander and can rejoin the battle.
The Pest Control minigame takes place on the Void Knights’ Outpost.

Official Worlds for Pest Control
These are the largest creatures in the Pest Control minigame. Their combat level can be 51, 76, 101, 111, or 129 and their colours determine their level. Since Brawlers can block players and other monsters, players can exploit this by luring them to the steps leading to the Void Knight to prevent other monsters from reaching him. They attack players with melee and do not attack the Void knight.
Defilers throw flying spikes over long distances and usually target the Void Knight. Their combat level can be 33, 50, 66, 80, or 97 shown by their distinctive colours.
These monsters can tear down the gates, allowing the torchers and defilers to the Void Knight so they must be killed quickly. Their combat levels can be 36, 53, 71, 89, or 106 shown by their distinctive colours. They are not generally aggressive, but they have high strength and use melee, so using protect from melee is advised.
Shifters use melee and can teleport across the island. This makes them dangerous, as they can teleport next to the Void Knight and attack him. Their combat levels are 36, 57, 76, 90, or 104, determined by their colour. They can also teleport the ravagers and torchers a short distance.
Spinners repair portals on the island, and they do this quicker than a player can damage the portal. For this reason, players should kill Spinners around each portal before attempting to destroy it. When killed, Spinners will explode, dealing 5 damage and poisons for 1 hit afterward. Their combat levels can be 37, 55, 74, 88 or 92.
Splatters go toward the nearest barricade or fort doors and explode, dealing 5-24 damage to players and monsters in a 3 x 3 radius and damaging the structures. This also happens when they are killed. Players can exploit this by luring them where a group of enemies are and detonating them, causing damage to all the enemies.
Torchers use a long-range magic attack that can damage players and the Void Knight. The attacks can go over walls. However, they have relatively low hitpoints and defence, so they can be killed easily. Their combat levels can be 33, 49, 67, 79, 91, or 92, depending on their colour.
Four portals are on different sides of the island in the Pest Control minigame. Each portal has hitpoint of 200 for novice lander and 250 for intermediate and veteran landers. Once the portals are destroyed, the minigame ends, and all participants are rewarded with commendation points. These portals have shields that must go down before they can be damaged. The Void knight disables the shields and announces it as the shield drops. The first shield will go down 15 seconds into the game, the following shields will go down in 30-second intervals after.
Western portal: Weak to ranged
Eastern portal: Weak to magic
Southeastern portal: weak to slab and slash attacks
Southwestern portal: weak to crush
This IUD shows on your screen when the minigame starts, it shows the portals and their current Hitpoints.
Board any of the landers by climbing the planks leading to them. At least 5–25 players are required for a pest control game to start. At 25 players, the round will automatically start otherwise, players must wait 2 minutes after at least 5 players have boarded the lander for the game to begin.
Players must maintain their activity bar throughout the game to receive commendation points. If the activity bar drops below 25%, it will turn red and no points will be awarded if it reaches 0% before the end of the round.
Here are the following ways can maintain their activity bar:
There are two ways to win the Pest control:
Note that when there are a lot of players participating, you don’t need to worry about the tips above and should only focus on maintaining your activity level, as the games would end quickly regardless.
Players earn commendation points in Pest Control for each successful game, based on the lander they use: 3 points for Novice, 4 for Intermediate, and 5 for Veteran. The maximum number of points a player can hold is 4,000; any points earned beyond this limit will not be added. A Pest control game usually takes an average of 2 minutes, so the rates below may be different for you if it is shorter or longer than that.
Here is the XP per hour players with different combat levels can expect if they purchase attack, strength, defence, or hitpoints XP with all the commendation points they earn, based on the lander they use.
Depending on their activity, players can earn additional XP if they attack the monsters in the minigame.
