Sarachnis is a level 318, spider-like monster found in a burial tomb in Forthos Dungeon. She is a great boss for players new to PVM and is also quite profitable. It can teach you basic PVM skills like prayer-switching and proper movements. She can be killed when assigned to a spider slayer task. Most players kill this boss because of its pet, which drops at a rate of 1/3,000, and the Sarachnel cudgel, which drops at a rate of 1/384.
Players can find the Forthos Dungeon’s burial tomb in the southernmost part of the dungeon. They can enter the dungeon through the entrance inside and east of Forthos Ruin. Bring a slash weapon or knife to cut through the webs blocking Sarachnis' location.
Players can right-click and peek through the webs to see how many players are inside the tomb. Another web blocks the tomb; it is thicker but does not require a slash weapon or knife to cut.
Here are the fastest ways to reach Forthos Dungeon:
Wilderness sword
Wilderness swords are a reward for completing a wilderness diary. They can always slash webs successfully.
Aranea boots
These boots have a special web-negating mechanic that allows players to pass through all webs without a knife. Wearing these boots will negate the sticky web attack from Sarachnis and other monsters. They are dropped by Araxytes and have no requirements to wear
The higher, the better
Head slot: Neitiznot faceguard
Neck slot: Amulet of torture
Cape slot: Fire cape
Body slot: Karil’s leathertop: you should wear armour with high strength bonus equipment like the Masori armour or Karil’s. If you don’t have the requirements for these, you can wear the blessed or black d’hide armour.
Leg slot: Karil’s leatherskirt
Weapon slot: Abyssal bludgeon. A better alternative is the Scythe. If you don’t have the requirements to use any of these weapons, you can opt for the leaf-bladed axe or Sarachnis cudgel.
Ammo slot: Rada’s blessing 4
Shield slot: Dragon defender
Glove slot: Barrows gloves
Boot slot: Primordial boots or dragon boots
Ring slot: Berserker ring (i)
Special attack weapon: Dragon claws or Crystal Halberd
Sarachnis has high magic and ranged defence and is weak to crush, so ensure to use a good melee gear setup similar to the one above. Understanding Sarachnis’ attacks and how to avoid them is crucial when fighting her, as she is very accurate.
Sarachnis has several attacks
When Sarachnis reaches 66% and 33% health, she summons two spawns of Sarachnis per player. These are blue and orange spiders. The blue one attacks with magic and the orange one attacks with melee. They have 30 hitpoints and have a maximum hit of 11.
High-level players can ignore these spawns and continue to attack Sarachnis since they won’t be able to do significant damage to them. However, players with lower combat stats should first kill the spawn that attacks with magic (blue one) and then kill or ignore the one that attacks with melee (orange).
The best strategy to kill Sarachnis is to always stay in her melee range while attacking with melee, except when she performs the sticky web attack. Marking the tiles as shown below will help you to do this better.
Additionally, only eat when you are trapped by her web to do more damage and save costs. When you have killed her, you should stand in the center before she respawns so she does not attack you with ranged
With the suggested stats, players can kill Sarachnis 30 times each hour. This rate differs depending on the player’s combat stats, speed, and luck.
Each kill is worth 31,500 GP. If the player can do 30 trips per hour, this will result in approximately 945,000 GP per hour. After deducting the costs of divine super combat potions, prayer potions, and food, the resulting profit is 537,654 GP per hour.
