OSRS Scorpion Catcher Quest Guide

Scorpion Catcher is a quest where Thormac, a wizard from the Sorcerer's Tower, asks for your help in retrieving three magical scorpions that have escaped his care. It's up to you to track them down and bring them back.

How to Obtain the Dusty Key

The Dusty key is a key that unlocks a gate to the Taverley Dungeon, allowing passage into deeper parts of dungeon. It can be obtained from Velrak the explorer, who is imprisoned in the Black Knight headquarters in the southern part of the Dungeon. The steps to obtain the key include:

• Run south and kill the jailer outside of the cell, which would drop a jail key.

• Use the Jail key to unlock Velrack’s cell
• Unlock Velrak’s cell with the key
• Talk to Velrak and reply 1, 1 to get the dusty key.

Walkthrough of Scorpion Catcher

• Speak to Thormac on the top floor of the Sorcerer’s tower south of Seer’s Village. Go up multiple ladders to the top floor to get to Thormac. Reply 1 to start the quest.

The first scorpion

• Speak to a seer in Seer's Village. Reply 1.

• Go to Taverley Dungeon. Bring a dusty key if you have one, otherwise, you can get one in the dungeon from the steps shown above. Teleport to Falador with Falador teleport, then run west to the dungeon.
• Search the old wall. Enter the Gate leading to the blue dragons, then run west to the Old wall to search it. Drink a super-antipoison as there are poisonous spiders in this area.

• Use the scorpion cage on the scorpion.

The second scorpion

• Enter the Edgeville Monastery. Teleport to Edgeville with Amulet of Glory to get here quicker.

• Climb up the southeast ladder.

• Use the scorpion cage on the scorpion north.

The third scorpion

• Enter the Barbarian Outpost. Teleport to the Barbarian outpost to get here quicker.

• Use the scorpion cage on the scorpion.

Finishing up

• Return to Thormac, where you started the quest, to complete it.
