Skeletal Wyverns are a profitable and iconic Slayer task in Old School RuneScape, offering valuable drops like Wyvern Visage, Runite bars, and high alchables. However, their ice breath and high Defence make them a challenge if you're unprepared. This guide breaks down how to kill them efficiently, whether you’re on a Slayer task or farming for gold.

Recommended Stats

  Combat Level: 90+

  Slayer: 72 (if on task)

  Prayer: 43+ (Protect from Melee)

  Magic/Ranged: 75+ for efficiency

  Herblore: 55+ for super antifires (optional)

Location

Skeletal Wyverns are found in the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon, which lies south of Port Sarim and west of Mudskipper Point. To access them:

• Head to the dungeon entrance near Thurgo’s house.

• Enter and follow the path through the Skeletal Wyvern cave.

Recommended Teleports:

• Rimmington teleport tablet + run south

• Fairy ring AIQ (Mudskipper Point) + run northeast

Ice Breath Protection

Skeletal Wyverns are known for their powerful ice breath, which can deal over 50 damage if you’re not protected.

These items negate or reduce ice breath:

  Elemental Shield (Quest: Elemental Workshop I)

  Mind Shield (Elemental Workshop II)

  Dragonfire Shield (charged)

  Ancient Wyvern Shield (best protection)

  Anti-dragon shields and antifire potions do ❌ NOT ❌ work on Wyvern breath

• Behind rocks and stalagmites on the outer wall

Tip: Avoid standing in the middle—this will aggro multiple Wyverns.
