Rag and Bone Man I is a quest where you assist the Odd Old Man in gathering various bones from creatures across Gielinor to complete his eerie and unusual bone collection.

Item Requirements for Rag and Bone Man I

• 8 coins for 8 pots of vinegar (bring 68 coins if walking to and from Karamja for boat fare)
• 8 pots
• 8 logs of any type (or an axe to obtain them)
• Tinderbox
• Light source (a lantern is highly preferred)

• Digsite pendant or Digsite teleport for quick access to the Odd Old Man’s house
• Amulet of Glory for quick access to Draynor Village and Karamja

Walkthrough of Rag and Bone Man I

• Talk to the Odd Old Man east of Varrock. Use Digsite teleport, then run north to get here quicker. Reply 1, 1 to start the quest.

• Bring the following items: 1 Tinderbox, 1 Light source
• Kill a giant rat southeast of Varrock until it drops a giant rat bone.
• Kill the unicorns southeast of Varrock until they drop a Unicorn bone.
• Kill the Bears southeast of Varrock until they drop Bear ribs. Bears can be found directly east of the Unicorns.
• Kill a Ram south of Varrock until it drops a Ram Skull.
• Kill a Goblin east of Lumbridge until you get a Goblin Skull.

• Bring a light source and a tinderbox, then enter the hole to the Lumbridge Swamp caves.
• Kill a big frog in the southwest of the caves until you get a big frog leg. Make sure to RUN between the two marked run tiles to avoid the Wall Beast.

• Kill a monkey on Karamja until it drops a Monkey paw. Use the Amulet of Glory to get here sooner.
• Climb down the Karamja Volcano Dungeon. Kill a giant bat that is close to the entrance till you get a giant bat wing.

Preparing the bones

• Bring the following items: 8 coins, 8 Pot, 1 Giant Rat Bone, 1 Unicorn Bone, 1 Bear Ribs, 1 Ram Skull, 1 Goblin Skull, 1 Big Frog Leg, 1 Monkey Paw, 1 Giant Bat Wing.
• Talk to Fortunato in Draynor Village and then buy 8 jugs of vinegar from him.

• Use the vinegar on pots for 8 pots of vinegar.
• Use the bones in the pots of vinegar.
• Bring the following items: 8 Logs (or bring an axe to cut trees near the Odd old man),, 1 Tinderbox, 1 Bone in vinegar (Giant Rat Bone), 1 Bone in vinegar (Unicorn Bone), 1 Bone in vinegar (Bear Ribs), 1 Bone in vinegar (Ram Skull), 1 Bone in vinegar (Goblin Skull), 1 Bone in vinegar (Big Frog Leg), 1 Bone in vinegar (Monkey Paw), 1 Bone in vinegar (Giant Bat Wing)

• Place logs under the pot-boiler near the Odd Old Man.
• Add a bone to the pot-boiler.
• Light the logs under the pot-boiler.
• Wait for the bones to be cleaned. You can hop worlds to make this happen instantly.
• Take the pot and the cleaned bone from the pot-boiler.
• Repeat the steps until all the bones are completed.
• Talk to the Odd Old Man to complete the quest.
