The Lost Tribe is the first quest in the Dorgeshuun series. You’ll be checking out reports of goblins popping out of a new crack in the castle’s basement. It’s a really easy quest and perfect to do early, especially if you’re a Hardcore Ironman. It rewards the Ring of Life, which can save you when your health goes too low.

Walkthrough for the Lost Tribe
Bring: A pickaxe and any light source.
- To get started, use the Home Teleport or teleport with the spellbook or tablet straight to Lumbridge. Once you’re there, head to the first floor of Lumbridge Castle and talk to Sigmund shown below. Pick options 1, then 1 to kick off the quest.

- Talk to the Cook in the Lumbridge kitchen, Hans who wanders around the castle, Father Aereck in the church, and Bob in the axe shop. Keep picking option 1 until one of them mentions seeing a Goblin.
- Then head back to Duke Horacio in the same room as Sigmund on the first floor of Lumbridge Castle. Talk to him and pick option 3.
- Climb down the stairs and head to the trapdoor shown below in the Lumbridge kitchen to get to the basement.

Getting the Brooch
Bring: A light source (candle works), Varrock teleport to start next section
- Use a pickaxe on the rubble in the Lumbridge Castle basement (shown below) to dig through, then climb into the hole. Make sure you’ve got a light source with you.

- Walk a bit to the east and pick up the brooch on the floor shown in the location below.

Searching the Varrock Library
Recommended: Varrock teleport, Falador teleport, Lumbridge teleport to start section.
- Head back to Duke Horacio on the first floor of Lumbridge Castle. Reply 3 to show him the brooch.
- Teleport to Varrock and search the north-west bookcase in the Varrock Castle Library as indicated by the quest icon below

- Read through the Goblin Symbol Book by clicking the forward arrow until you reach the last page.
- After that, teleport to Falador and run north to the Goblin Village shown on the map below. Talk to the Goblin Generals and select options 1, 3, 2, 3, 3 to learn the goblin greetings

Navigating the Goblin Maze
Required: Light source
- Head back to the Lumbridge Castle basement and climb into the hole you dug earlier.
- Make your way through the tunnels under Lumbridge until you reach Mistag (indicated by quest icon below)—stick to the path shown below, or things can go wrong.
If you take a wrong turn, one of two things can happen:
- A rock may fall in front of you or land on you, dealing some damage.
- You might drop through a trapdoor into the main Lumbridge Swamp Caves. If that happens, any exposed flame will go out, so be ready to relight it with a tinderbox. You can get back by heading north and re-entering through the hole you made earlier.

- Perform the Goblin Bow emote next to Mistag as shown below and talk to him.

- Head back to Lumbridge. You can fast-travel by right-clicking Mistag and choosing the travel option
- Once you’re back, talk to Duke Horacio in Lumbridge Castle and select option 3.
- Then pickpocket Sigmund to get a key. Use it to open the chest in the room next to the Duke’s room as shown below.

- Head to the H.A.M. lair west of Lumbridge, marked by the quest icon below.

- Pick the lock on the trapdoor and climb down—it might take a few tries, so don’t worry if it fails at first.
- Once inside, search the crate near the entrance (shown below) to find the silverware.

- Take the silverware to Duke Horacio. Reply 3 to receive a peace treaty.
Finishing the Quest
Bring: the peace treaty and a pickaxe.
- Head to the tunnel in the Lumbridge basement. Right-click Kazgar at the entrance and select ‘Follow’ to fast-travel through the tunnel.
- Once through, talk to Mistag and hand him the treaty to complete the quest.
Rewards from the Lost Tribe Quest

- 1 quest point
- 3,000 mining XP
- Ring of life
- Dorgeshuun Mine Access.
The Lost Tribe doesn’t just give you the Ring of Life, which is super useful for hardcore ironman—it also unlocks the Dorgeshuun Crossbow. This is one of the most cost-effective ranged weapons in the game because its ammo is really cheap, making it perfect for training Ranged, especially on an Ironman account. Check our ranged weapons progression guide for other decent ranged training weapons.
