OSRS Children of the Sun Quest Guide

Children of the Sun is the first quest that introduces players to Varlamore and the Twilight Emsissaries series. The completion of this quest is required to access Varlamore.

The Children of the Sun quest has no skill or item requirements.

General Questing recommendations: enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section, hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.

Time to complete: The Children of the sun can be completed in 4 minutes.

Walkthrough of the Children of the Sun

• Talk to Noah or Alina, east of Varrock Square, behind Eliza's stall. Reply 1, 3 during the dialogue. Varrock teleport is the fastest way to get here.

 Investigation

The guard patrols toward southeast Varrock, occasionally turning around to check behind him. Stay hidden behind nearby buildings to avoid detection. If he spots you, speak to Noah to restart this part of the quest.

• Follow the guard carefully, staying hidden in the marked spots before he turns back, or the quest step will fail. It helps to turn off your run energy and move only as the guard moves. Make sure you keep him within a reasonable distance while following him. Continue tracking the guard until he enters the building below, using the quest-icon-marked hiding spots to stay out of sight.

• Once you’ve hidden in the final spot, the suspicious guard will enter the small building next to Aubury's Rune Shop. A cutscene will automatically play, revealing that the guard is actually a bandit and showing their plan to attack the delegation as it leaves.

• After the cutscene, return to Varrock Square and speak with Sergeant Tobyn. He will ask you to identify the four bandits who are posing as guards. Use the “Mark” option on each of them to complete this step. Each guard to mark and their locations are shown below.

• Mark the guard outside Aris' tent, south of Varrock center.

• Mark the guard east of Varrock Square, who is not wearing a helmet and has long hair.

• Mark the guard leaning on the north wall of Lowe's Archery Emporium, east of the square.

• Mark the guard with a mace, northwest of the Varrock East bank.

• Return to Sergeant Tobyn, who arrests the bandits. On the palace roof, Prince Itzla arrives and helps with the interrogations. The bandits reveal they were hired—possibly from Varlamore—to kill Servius, Teokan of Ralos. Prince Itzla thanks you, grants permission to travel to Varlamore, and tells you to speak with Regulus Cento outside Varrock’s Eastern gate to continue the investigation.
• Talk to Sergeant Tobyn again in the cell room to complete the quest.
