OSRS Misthalin Mystery Quest Guide

Misthalin Mystery quest takes place in the Draynor manor and is about Abigale, who seeks help for her injured boyfriend, Hewery, after being attacked by an unknown figure. It has no requirements and is quite short.

Time to complete: 6 to 8 minutes, depending on experience.

General Questing recommendations: enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section, hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.

Walkthrough for Misthalin Mystery

• Start by speaking to Abigale in the southeast corner of the Lumbridge Swamp and select option 1 to begin the quest. She explains that she was attacked by an unknown figure on a nearby island and needs your help.
• Board the boat south to the Manor. Once there, head west and pick up a bucket next to the fountain if you don’t already have one. Then, search the barrel of rainwater to trigger a cutscene. Afterward, use the bucket on the barrel and search it again to retrieve a key you’ll need to progress through the Manor.

• Enter the Manor through the door shown in the image and follow the steps below to solve the riddles.

Riddle 1

• Take the knife from the table, then enter Door 1 to start a cutscene.

• After the cutscene, pick up the note that appears beside your character and read it then enter Door 2 in the image above, use a knife on the painting, and then search the painting to find a key. The riddle refers to a painting that depicts mountains, a blue river, and the sun setting on the horizon.

• Exit and enter Door 3. Search the shelves for a tinderbox, then use it on the unlit candles. Once the room is warm enough, use the tinderbox on the fuse of the barrel of explosives, then leave the room and re-nter after the explosion and climb over the damaged wall.

Riddle 2

• Run to the northern part of the Manor, where Lacey is tied up to start a cutscene. The Killer will ask her for the name of the vampyre living in South Misthalin; any choice works, but if you answer “Count Check,” he’ll kill Lacey for interfering.

• She’ll die, and the Killer will leave another note. Pick it up and read:

  It’s like music to my ears!
  The glorious sounds, spelling out your fate!

  The riddle points to the piano in the manor’s northeast corner. Enter through the damaged wall, play the notes D-E-A-D, then search the piano to find an emerald key.

Riddle 3

• Enter through the damaged wall, play the notes D-E-A-D on the piano, then right-click and search it to obtain an emerald key.
• Go back and climb over the damaged wall and pass through the doors shown with the arrows below. Trying to enter the last door to the west will start a cutscene. Press space to go through the conversation.

• After the cutscene, pick up the note that appears and read it then go to the room below and use your knife on the fireplace highlighted.

• Search the fireplace, and the gemstone switch panel will appear on your screen. Click Sapphire, Diamond, Zenyte, Emerald, Onyx, and Ruby in that order, then search the fireplace to get a sapphire key. After that, Leave the room through the south door and go west to the sapphire door shown below. This will trigger a cutscene

Final Puzzle

• After the cutscene, your character will be in the center of a room. The Killer hides in one of four wardrobes and throws knives. The correct wardrobe has a faint black shadow.

• Push the mirror to face the wardrobe with the black swirl. The mirror must be aligned before the knife is thrown to reflect it and damage the Killer. Each successful hit makes him scream “ouch.”

• Hit the Killer three times to trigger a cutscene. Press space to continue. An example of the mirror facing the wardrope where the killer is in is shown below.

• Pick up the Killer’s knife, left-click Abigale to interact (no combat occurs), then attempt to leave through the Sapphire door to start another cutscene.

• Outside the Manor, speak to Mandy and press space to complete the quest.

With Misthalin Mystery completed, you can move on to Prince Ali Rescue next. It’s another quick quest that unlocks free passage between Lumbridge and Al Kharid, making early-game travel much easier.
