OSRS Priest in Peril Guide

Priest in Peril is the first quest in Morytania, and it is required to access the area. It involves helping the monk Drezel recover the temple.

General Questing recommendations

• Enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section.  
• Hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.  

Items requirements for Priest in Peril

• 50 unnoted rune essence: After completing Rune Mysteries, you can mine rune essence by speaking to Aubury in Varrock. The 50 essence collected doesn't need to be the same type.
• Bucket

Walkthrough of Priest in Peril

• Talk to King Roald. Reply 1, 1, 3 to start the quest.

•  Get ranged or melee gear since the Temple Guardian is immune to magic, then go to the temple, east of Varrock.

• Attempt to enter the temple. Reply 1, 1.  

• Go down the ladder, north of the temple. Be ready to fight the Temple Guardian.

• After killing the Temple Guardian, return to King Roald in Varrock Castle. Reply 1.
• Get 50 essence from your bank. If you have a medium pouch, put 25 essence in it and carry 25 essence in your inventory, for a total of 50 essence. Without a medium pouch, carry at least 25 essence, so you can get a total of 50 essence in 2 trips. Leave one inventory space empty as well.
• Return to the temple.
• Open the door and kill a monk of Zamorak until you get a golden key.
• Climb up the stairs and up the ladder, then talk to Drezel in the prison. Reply 2, 1.

• Go back downstairs and head to the underground of the temple, where you fought the temple guardian.
• Open the south gate and go east to the central room and study the monuments there to find which one has a key on it, then use the golden key in your inventory on it.

• Use the bucket on the well in the centre of the monuments.
• Go back to the top floor of the temple and open the cell door.
• Talk to Drezel to bless the water and use the blessed water on the coffin.

• Talk to Drezel again.
• Go to the underground of the temple.
• Open the east cell door and talk to Drezel in the east of the underground temple area.

• Talk to Drezel again to deliver the essence to him. If you don't have a pouch, you have to go back to the nearest bank to get more essence and return to Drezel to complete the quest. Continue the conversation after the quest to unlock Morytania.
