OSRS Tithe Farm Guide: Points & XP Rates Per Hour

OSRS Tithe Farm Guide: Points & XP Rates Per Hour

Tithe Farm is a minigame that revolutionized farming, as it eliminates the need to wait for seeds to grow to gain experience. Instead, it allows for constant experience gain as long as you keep playing. Unlike most farming methods, Tithe Farm lets players gain consistent, repeatable XP without waiting hours for plants to grow. It's located in Zeah, north of the Sand Crabs. In this minigame, you must plant seeds against the clock to harvest them and earn experience points. These points can then be used to purchase untradeable items that will aid in your farming skill. Since farm runs give better experience rates with fewer clicks, most players don't play the Tithe farm for farming experience. Instead, they play it for the points that can be earned and used to unlock valuable items like auto weed, herb sacks, farmer's hats, and herb boxes.

Requirements

  •   34 Farming to participate
  •   Golovano seeds: this requires 34 farming
  •   Bologano seeds: this requires 54 farming

The higher the level, the more farming experience you get per seed.

Items Needed

  Seed Dibber

  Spade

  Watering Cans

  Weight-reducing gear

  Optional: Runes for Humidify

Players with low Agility or no energy-restoring gear may want to bring stamina potions, though modern run-energy changes make this optional.

Getting Started

Once inside, take a seed corresponding to your farming level and enter the door to start a session. You’ll be placed in your own instance or a shared world instance, depending on participation.

Basic Mechanics

Tithe Farm revolves around planting, watering, and harvesting crops on a timed cycle.

  • Each seed takes 3 minutes to fully grow.
  • It must be watered once per minute (three times total).
  • If you miss a watering phase, the crop dies.
  • Each full cycle yields 1 fruit, which you collect and store.

Easy Setup - 20×4 Rotation

The method is called the 20x5 strategy

  • Plant and water 20 seeds per rotation.
  • Repeat this process 5 times to harvest 100 fruits per run.

When you deposit 100 fruits, you receive:

  • Bonus XP for depositing more than 75 fruits.
  • +2 extra points for hitting exactly 100 fruits.

Never deposit fewer than 100 fruits if possible — this ensures maximum efficiency.

Hard Setup - 25x4 Method (Click intensive)

This method allows you to sow an extra row of seeds, increasing your experience and points per hour, but it requires more attention and the mandatory Humidify Spell, which requires the Lunar Spellbook, the Dream Mentor quest, and a Magic level of 68. It also requires Stamina Potions for those with low Agility.

The most efficient method is called the 25x4 strategy and here are are the perfect tiles to complete this method, use this photo or do it yourself on your PC.

The method is called the 25x4 strategy

  • Plant and water 100 seeds per rotation.
  • Always use the image above to know which tiles to plant the seeds on.
  • Use RuneLite Mark Tile to name each one.
  • Humidify Spell is obligatory

Never deposit fewer than 100 fruits if possible — this ensures maximum efficiency.

Step-by-Step Tithe Farm Run

1. Preparation

  • Grab 100 seeds from the seed table.
  • Make sure your watering cans are full (or use Humidify).
  • Enable RuneLite’s Ground Markers for layout efficiency (you can import layouts for perfect tile placement).

2. Planting Phase

  • Start at your first marked tile and plant seeds in sequence.
  • After planting each seed, use your watering can on it to instantly water it (this cancels the animation and saves time).

3. Watering Phases

  • Water your crops three times during their growth:

    • 1st phase: Right after planting.
    • 2nd phase: Around 60 seconds later.
    • 3rd phase: After another 60 seconds, once done, plants won’t die anymore.

4. Harvesting

  • After the 3rd watering, harvest your crops with a spade.
  • Refill your watering cans using the nearby barrels or Humidify.

5. Repeat

  • Continue until you’ve harvested 100 fruits.
  • Deposit fruits into the deposit sack for XP and points.

Why Tithe Farm is Worth Doing

  • Not stop and active XP: 100k+ Farming XP/hr — faster than herb runs.
  • Essential Unlocks: Seed Box, Herb Sack, Farmer’s Outfit.
  • Great for Ironmen: No RNG or waiting; full control of progress.

However, note that while it’s efficient and consistent, it’s not AFK — this is an active minigame that requires focus and rhythm.

The Tithe Farm is one of the best ways to train Farming in OSRS. With consistent XP rates, no waiting time, and a shop of useful rewards, it's an excellent grind for Ironmen, mid-level players, and anyone aiming to unlock the Herb Sack or Farmer's Outfit. Tithe Farm may not replace your daily tree runs, on the contrary, it complements it. Tithe Farm can yield over 100k XP per hour while being almost completely self-sufficient.
