OSRS Killerwatt Slayer Task Guide: Locations & Safespots

OSRS Killerwatt Slayer Task Guide: Locations & Safespots

If you've been assigned Killerwatts as your Slayer task, you're in for a zappy and unique experience. They are a great mid-level Slayer task. They're fast to kill, provide consistent XP, and have a predictable attack pattern that makes them ideal for safespotting or prayer flicking. Killerwatts are electric-themed monsters that offer solid Slayer XP and can be safely farmed with the right setup. In this guide, we'll cover everything you need to know--from requirements to gear, locations, and safespots.

Requirements

To be assigned Killerwatts, you'll need:

  •   Level 37 Slayer
  •   Completion of the quest "Ernest the Chicken"

Items to Bring

Essential:

  •   Insulated Boots - Reduces the damage from Killerwatts' electric attacks. Buy them from any Slayer Master.

Recommended:

  •   Dragonhide armor or any armor with high Magic defense if not using prayers.
  •   Food - Their attacks are frequent, so bring enough healing.
  •   Teleport - For quick escape.
  •   Prayer potions - If you plan to use Protect from Missiles.

How to Get There

Killerwatts are only found in one location:

Access this area via the portal on the top floor of Draynor Manor.

Once you complete "Ernest the Chicken," the portal becomes accessible. Entering the portal takes you to the killerwatt zone.

This is just an example gear set up, if you have better gear please don't be shy about using it, this is to give you a rough idea of what you need to carry and keep in mind that there will always be better options in terms of armor and weapons.

Killerwatt Mechanics

  • Attack Styles: Killerwatts use a highly accurate melee attack and a magic-based ranged attack.
  • Aggression: They become aggressive as soon as you click on them, even if you cancel the action.
  • Special Consideration: If you do not use protection prayers, you will take more damage from their ranged attacks. Insulated boots mitigate this.

Best Combat Styles

  • Magic: Not recommended due to their resistance.
  • Melee: Effective, especially with Protect from Missiles.
  • Ranged: Very safe option when safespotting.

If using melee without prayers, consider wearing gear that provides high Magic defense.

Safespots

Killerwatts can be safespotted using the holes in the Killerwatt Plane. These holes act as barriers that the monsters cannot cross, allowing you to attack from range or with spells while avoiding melee attacks.

However, note: they can still hit you with their magic-based ranged attacks, so safespotting doesn't make you completely immune unless you're using Protect from Missiles.

Tips

  • Use Protect from Missiles for minimal damage and a smooth task.
  • Use safespots if you're low level or want to save food.
  • Keep Insulated Boots equipped at all times.

Cannonspot

It is not possible to use a Dwarf Multicannon in the Killerwatt Plane.

Due to the isolated and instanced nature of this area, cannon placement is disabled entirely. All combat must be done manually using your chosen combat style.
