OSRS Vyrewatch Sentinel Slayer & Money Making Guide

OSRS Vyrewatch Sentinel Slayer & Money Making Guide

Vyrewatch Sentinels are a great slayer task and one of the best semi-AFK money makers in Old School RuneScape for players who have completed the Sins of the Father quest. Whether you're here for profit or training, this guide covers everything you need to know about location, gear, strategy, and their valuable drops.

Requirements

  •   Slayer Level: No Slayer level required
  •   Weapon: Blisterwood Flail (obtained during the quest)
  •   Quest: Must complete Sins of the Father

Location

Vyrewatch Sentinels are found exclusively in Darkmeyer, which becomes accessible after completing Sins of the Father. They patrol the southern section of the city near the Blisterwood tree, altar, and bank.

How to Get There

  • Drakan's Medallion: Teleports you directly into Darkmeyer then run noth and start killing the Vyrewatches

Combat Options

  •   Blisterwood Flail: Mandatory for dealing full damage to Vyrewatch.
  •   Best Strength/Crush Bonus Melee Gear: E.g., Bandos, Fighter Torso, Neitiznot Faceguard.
  •   OR Prayer Gear: Proselyte, Initiate, Monk's Robes for longer trips with Protection Prayers.

Inventory Setup

  •   Combat Potions: Super combat potions, or strength + attack separately.
  •   Prayer Potions: To maintain Protect from Melee or Piety.
  •   Food (optional): If you're not praying melee.
  •   Drakan's Medallion: This is for fast teleporting to Darkmeyer.
  •   Vyre Noble Disguise (optional): Prevents being auto-attacked while banking or preparing.

Banking Tips

  1. Option 1: Wear Vyre Noble Disguise, walk to the bank, close the door, and bank.
  2. Option 2: Use Drakan's Medallion to teleport to Theatre of Blood (Ver Sinhaza), then teleport back.

This is just an example gear set up, if you have better gear please don't be shy about using it, this is to give you a rough idea of what you need to carry and keep in mind that there will always be better options in terms of armor and weapons.

Strategy

  1. Teleport to Darkmeyer using Drakan's Medallion.
  2. If wearing a disguise, remove it to start the fight -- Vyres will become aggressive.
  3. Use Protect from Melee for minimal damage.
  4. Use Piety for faster kills (optional but helpful).
  5. AFK while fighting or manually flick if you want to extend potions.
  6. Run to a nearby altar when prayer is low (beware: you'll take 1-3 damage per prayer restored).

AFK Method

  • Use prayer gear + Piety.
  • Camp Protect from Melee.
  • Re-pot when needed.
  • Replenish prayer at the altar when low.

Notable Drops

Vyrewatch Sentinels are widely regarded as a strong passive money-making method thanks to their consistent drop table and rare Blood Shard drops.

Vyrewatch Sentinels have consistent and valuable drops, making them excellent for both XP but more when we talk about GP. e.g:

  • Blood Shard (1/1500) - ~5.4M GP (2025) - Used with Amulet of Fury to create Amulet of Blood Fury.
  • Vampyre Dust - Used for Hallowed Sepulchre.
  • Rune Drops - Rune daggers, rune full helms, rune bars.
  • Runes - Blood, Death, Nature.
