OSRS Misthalin Mystery Quest Guide: Beginner-Friendly

OSRS Misthalin Mystery Quest Guide: Beginner-Friendly

Misthalin Mystery is a short, story-driven quest set on a small island near Draynor Manor. You meet Abigale, who asks for your help after her boyfriend, Hewey, is attacked by an unknown assailant. The quest has no combat, no item requirements, and no skill levels needed—making it perfect for beginners. I personally think the final puzzle is a nice introduction to how timing works in the game.

Final Puzzle – The Killer’s Wardrobe

You’ll be placed in a center room with four wardrobes.
The Killer hides in one of them and throws knives at you but don’t worry, the knives can’t actually harm you. This puzzle might feel tricky at first, but once you get the timing right, it becomes very easy.

How to solve it:

  • Look for the wardrobe with a faint black shadow.
  • Push the mirror to face that wardrobe.
  • Time it so the knife reflects off the mirror and hits the Killer. An example is shown in the image below.
  • Each successful hit causes him to yell “ouch.”

  • Hit him three times to trigger the final cutscene.
  • Pick up the Killer’s knife, then left-click Abigale. Don’t worry—no combat occurs. Instead, a dialogue sequence will start.

  • Head back to the entrance of the manor, speak to Mandy to finish the quest.
