  • Head to the kitchen and fill your pot with flour. Use the flour on the criminal’s dagger, then apply the dagger to a piece of flypaper to collect an unknown fingerprint. Next, dust each silver item with flour and use the flypaper to lift fingerprints from them. Finally, compare these prints to the one obtained from the dagger by placing the flypaper from the items onto the original flypaper print from the dagger.

  • Once you’ve identified a matching print, the silver items can be safely dropped, keeping only your proof. To build a full case, head to the mansion entrance and speak with Gossip—  Reply 2. to ask him who he suspects is responsible.

  • Next, gather information about the poison. Head to the pub west of the Seers’ Village bank and speak with the poison salesman. Reply 2 to ask him who bought the poison, and he’ll reveal that everyone at the mansion purchased some.

Poison Salesman

  • Return to the mansion and question the person whose fingerprints were found on the criminal’s dagger to find out what they used the poison on. Then, investigate the items they mention:
  • Anna – Compost heap

  • Bob – Beehive in the cow pen

  • Carol – Mansion drain, west of the front door

  • David – Spider nest upstairs, between the two rooms with three beds each

  • Elizabeth – Fountain

  • Frank – Family crest, east of the front door

You’ll discover that each suspect lied about their poison usage.

Note: The guard will take the evidence from you. If you want to keep items like the silver necklace, drop them before talking to the guard, as banking them won’t prevent their removal.

Finally, speak to a guard and present the fingerprints of the real culprit along with the poison and the thread from the window. The thread’s color will match the culprit’s clothing, proving their guilt.
