OSRS Murder Mystery Quest Guide

Murder Mystery is a quest where you investigate the murder of Lord Sinclair. You'll need to gather clues and examine evidence to identify the killer, who is randomly selected for each player.

General Questing recommendations

• Enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section. 
• Hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog. 

Item Requirements for Murder Mystery

Pot: Can be bought from the Grand Exchange on normal accounts. ironman have to buy it from a general store.

It has no skill or quest requirements. 

Recommendations for Murder Mystery

Camelot teleport: Can be bought from the Grand Exchange. Ironman can take a Charter ship to Catherby, then run north to get to Camelot.

Walkthrough for Murder Mystery

• Teleport to Camelot using the Camelot teleport, and talk to the Guard in the Sinclair Manor, north of Camelot. Reply 1 to start the quest.

• Enter the mansion and pick up the pungent pot and the criminal’s dagger from the east room.

• Search the window for a clothing thread. The color of the thread will match the killer’s trousers.

• Investigate the sacks in the shed for flypaper. Get 2 pieces.

• Search the barrel in every suspect's room for a silver item. Also, climb upstairs and do the same. Here are the items you will find: Anna's silver necklace, Bob's silver cup, Carol's silver bottle, David's silver book, and Elizabeth's silver needle. 

• Fill your pot with flour from the barrel in the mansion’s kitchen.

• Use the pot of flour on the Criminal’s dagger.
• Use the flypaper on the dagger.
• Fill your pot again with flour from the barrel in the mansion’s kitchen
• Use a pot of flour on each silver item retrieved from the rooms.
• Use flypaper on the flour-covered item
• Compare the suspect’s prints to the unknown prints. The print that matches the suspect’s print is the one that did it. You should see a message in your chat box when you get it right.

• Talk to Gossip, just south of the Sinclair Mansion. Reply 2.

• Talk to the Poison Salesman in the Seers’ Village pub. Reply 2.

• Talk to the suspect.
• Disprove the suspects’ alibi by checking the thing they claimed to have cleaned.
• Return to the guard outside the Sinclair Mansion and tell him your findings to complete the quest.
