Phosani Nightmare is a level 1,024 monster located in Sisterhood Sanctuary. It is recommended that players fight the regular Nightmare first before attempting the Phosani Nightmare, as it is a more challenging version. It is faster, more punishing when mistakes are made, and can only be fought alone. However, players who have mastered its mechanics will take little damage during the fight. The profits from killing the Phosani Nightmare are not worth the difficulty. However, players have a 1/113 chance of receiving a unique item per kill.

The Phosani Nightmare is located in the Sisterhood Sanctuary under the town of Slepe.

Phosani’s Nightmare’s shield has 400 HP, and players can’t damage her directly until her shield is broken every phase. Afterward, they can attack four totems in each corner of the boss room to charge it. Players must charge all four totems around the corner of the arena and when they are fully charged, they will unleash a magical blast of energy on the Nightmare, dealing 800 damage to her.
The difference in mechanics between Regular and Phosani’s Nightmare
Unlike the normal Nightmare, praying against Phosani’s Nightmare regular attacks will fully block the damage. However, they hit harder if not prayed against, with the ranged and magic attacks able to hit up to 80 damage and the melee up to 73 damage. It’s highly recommended to play with game sounds on, as the sounds for each attack are quite different and will help you use the right protection prayer.
Here are the regular attacks from the Nightmare.
It’s recommended to pray against meleeuntil you see her ranged or magic attack animation.
In each phase, Phosani’s nightmare will perform 3 special attacks which will always include one husk or parasite, one paired with grasping claws, corpse flower or spores, and one additional special attack like Curse or Surge.
During phase four, Phosani’s Nightmare can disable the player’s protection prayer if it is correct before her attack animation starts.
Phosani’s Nightmare will spawn a black portal under her and other smaller ones before sticking her claw inside. Standing on any black portal will result in 50 to 65 damage. Move to another tile without the black portal to avoid damage. New players will struggle with this more as a late reaction even by a tick will deal heavy damage and even kill the player with 2 hits.
The best strategy to avoid damage from this attack is known as “corner rifting”. It requires the player to stand next to one of the boss’ four corner tiles when the claws appear, then move quickly out of that tile in the next tick to prevent a pool from appearing on that tile.
At the end of the first 4 phases, Phosani’s Nightmare summons sleepwalkers towards her. Sleepwalkers possess 10 health and will die instantly upon taking any damage. After this attack, she will charge up a power blast that will damage the player. The more sleepwalkers she absorbs, the more powerful the power blast becomes, capable of dealing over 70 damage to the player.
Quickly kill as many Sleepwalkers as possible to reduce the power blast's damaging power, as it is unavoidable. Equip your webweaver bow to kill them quickly, otherwise, they will deal heavy damage.
Phosani’s Nightmare can spawn 2 husks around the player in the arena. The blue, skinny husk uses magic attacks while the green, bigger husk uses ranged attacks and the player would be unable to move till the Husks are killed.
Equip a 3-tick weapon like the Ham joint and set it to crush, to kill them quickly and free yourself.
Phosani’s Nightmare will center herself in the arena and divide it into four equal quadrants. The white nightmare flowers will be safe while the red ones can cause rapid damage, and any attacks that can harm her will heal her. In a short time, the flowers will disappear and players can move freely around the room again.
The player's screen will flick pink, and protection prayers will change.
This will last until she performs 5 regular attacks.
Phosani’s nightmare will throw a parasite at a random player and their hp will turn pink. After 10.8 seconds, it will grow and burst out of the player, dealing huge damage and healing the Nightmare until killed. Drinking a dose of Sanfew potion will reduce the damage, and make the Parasite emerge from the player to heal Phosani’s nightmare. You should kill them as soon as possible.
Phosani’s Nightmare teleports to one of the four edges of the room and swiftly surges to the opposite side, dealing up to 80 damage to anyone in her path.
Puffshroom-like objects will appear in the arena. Players who stand 1 tile within one of them will have their run disabled and their attack speed increased by 2 ticks, and every yawn will drain prayer by 6 points. Combined with the grasping claws attack, it becomes very dangerous.
The first 3 phases of Phosani’s nightmare are similar to the regular Nightmare except that she can use her special attacks randomly. Check our Nightmare guide to see all 3 phases. Also, an extra sleepwalker will spawn per phase, starting at 1 for phase 1 and at a maximum of four after phase 4.
Phosani’s nightmare will disable the player’s prayer at the start of her attack animation in phase 4. She also has a higher chance to use melee attacks during this time, so players should prioritize using protect from melee. If the husks spawn in this phase, their attacks are delayed to be on-sync with Phosani’s nightmare attacks. Players should kill the magic husk first as it will not be possible to protect against both the magic husk and Phosani’s nightmare at the same time if she uses any other attack style than magic.
The player should kill the first 3 sleepwalkers with ranged and then the last one with melee or they won’t have enough time to kill all of them which is dangerous as even if one sleepwalker makes it through to Phosani’s nightmare, the player will take 40 damage.
Unlike the regular nightmare, Phosani’s nightmare will survive the final blast and teleport to the centre of the arena. She heals herself up to 150 HP and will use the Grasping Claws special attack indefinitely, while sleepwalkers continuously spawn from the edges of the arena. The sleepwalkers will spawn so fast that it is impossible to kill all of them and for everyone that reaches her, the player will take 15 damage. It’s best to use special attacks on Phosani’s nightmare to damage her quickly during this phase. It’s also advisable to pray Redemption, as you would take a lot of damage during this phase.
Attack her with melee in this phase until she finally dies
With the recommended combat stats above, experienced players can kill the Phosani Nightmare 6.5 times each hour. This results in a profit of 7.5M GP after the cost of supplies has been deducted.
