OSRS Witch's Potion Quest Guide

Witch’s potion is a free-to-play quest where the player helps the witch Hetty make a magical potion. It has no skill or quest requirements, but players are required to kill a rat to obtain a rat’s tail.

 

Difficulty: Easy

Length: Very short

 

General Questing recommendations

  • Enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section. 
  • Hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog. 

 

Item Requirements for Witch’s Potion

All these items can be purchased from the Grand Exchange on normal accounts. However, ironman has to obtain them through the methods below.

  • Burnt meat
  • Eye of newt
  • Onion
  • Rat’s tail

 

Obtaining the required items on Ironman

  • Burnt meat: This can be made using cooked meat on a fire.
  • Eye of newt: They can be bought from Betty’s Magic Emporium in Port Sarim.
  • Onion: Can be found on the 2nd floor of the Lumbridge General store.
  • Rat’s tail: Obtained during the quest.

 

Skill necklace: Teleport to Crafting Guild, north of Rimmington. It can be purchased from the Grand Exchange.

 

Walkthrough of Witch’s Potion

  • Talk to Hetty in Rimmington. Reply 1, 1 to start the quest. Use a house teleport if your player-owned house is in Rimmington, or run west from Draynor Village or Lumbridge to reach the area.

Hetty

  • Kill a rat in the house to the west to get a rat tail.

  • Take this with the other item requirements to Hetty. After talking to him, drink from the cauldron to complete the quest.
