Witch’s Potion is a short and simple free-to-play quest where you help the witch Hetty brew a magical potion. There are no skill or quest requirements, so it’s perfect for beginners. Honestly, it’s one of the quickest quests in the game—similar to Imp Catcher and Cook’s Assistant—basically just running around collecting items and handing them over to an NPC.

Length: Very short
Time to Complete: I usually finish this quest in about a minute. If you’re playing Ironman, it’ll take a bit longer since you need to grab all the items yourself.

Item Requirements
For regular accounts:
- Burnt meat
- Eye of newt
- Onion
- Rat’s tail
Ironman accounts:
- Burnt meat: Cook raw meat on a fire twice. Cooking a raw meat once gives you cooked meat. Use that on fire to get burnt meat.
- Eye of newt: Purchase from Betty’s Magic Emporium in Port Sarim.
- Onion: Found on the second floor of Lumbridge General Store.
- Rat’s tail: Obtained during the quest itself.
Recommended item
- Skill necklace (teleports to Crafting Guild, north of Rimmington) – optional but speeds up travel.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Start the Quest
Bring: Burnt meat, eye of newt, and onion
- Teleport to Rimmington using skill necklace or run there then speak to Hetty in the location below and select dialogue options 1 → 1 to begin..
Collect the Rat’s Tail
- Head over to the house just west of Hetty and grab a rat’s tail by killing the rat inside. It’s only level 1, so you don’t even need a weapon—even a fresh level 3 account can handle it easily.
Return to Hetty
Take the rat’s tail along with burnt meat, eye of newt, and onion and talk to Hetty. Drink from the cauldron to complete the potion and that’s it—you’ve completed Witch’s Potion!
