Witch's potion is a free-to-play quest where the player helps the witch Hetty make a magical potion. It has no skill or quest requirements, but players are required to kill a rat to obtain a rat's tail.

Length: Very short
General Questing recommendations: enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section, hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.
Time to complete: I completed the Witch's potion in a minute with a normal account. Beginners should expect the same since the quest is very easy. However, with an ironman, the quest will take between four minutes to six minutes since you have to obtain required items.

All these items can be purchased from the Grand Exchange on normal accounts. However, ironman has to obtain them through the methods below.
- Burnt meat
- Eye of newt
- Onion
- Rat's tail

Skill necklace: Teleport to Crafting Guild, north of Rimmington. It can be purchased from the Grand Exchange.
Walkthrough of Witch's Potion
- To start the quest, go to Hetty's house in Rimmington and speak to her. Select options 1, 1 during the dialogue and she will ask you to make a potion. The quickest way to get to Hetty is by using a house teleport if your player-owned house is in Rimmington. Alternatively, run west from Draynor Village or Lumbridge to reach the area.
Obtaining the required items on Ironman
Hetty requires 4 items to make her potion. Here are the quickest ways to get all of them. Normal accounts can just buy them grand exchange to save time.
- Burnt meat: This can be made using cooked meat on a fire. To obtain cooked meat, kill a giant rat just north of the chapel graveyard in south-east Rimmington, or alternatively, kill a cow in the cow pen south of Falador. Cook the meat and use it on the fireplace in Hetty’s house. If the meat does not burn you can place the cooked meat on a fire or range to burn it. A player-lit fire also works. For convenience, raw meat can be purchased from Wydin at the food store in Port Sarim.
- Eye of newt: They can be bought from Betty's Magic Emporium in Port Sarim.
- Onions: Onions can be found in a field just north of Rimmington and east of Melzar's Maze, or in the backyard of Fred the Farmer’s farmhouse, located west of the sheep pen in Lumbridge. Alternatively, they Can be found on the 2nd floor of the Lumbridge General store.
- Rat's tail: Kill a level 1 rat, which can be found in the archery shop west of Hetty’s house, to obtain a rat’s tail. Note: You can only get a rat’s tail after starting the quest, and giant rats will not drop one if not.
Finishing the quest
- When you have all the required items, take them to Hetty, she will put them in to her cauldron and ask you to drink from it. Drink from the cauldron to complete the quest and gain your rewards.
