OSRS Dwarf Cannon Quest Guide

OSRS Dwarf Cannon Quest Guide

Dwarf cannon is a short quest that provides access to the Dwarf multicannon. It is about the conflict between the dwarven outpost at the coal truck mining site and the local goblins.

Difficulty: Easy

Length: Short

The Dwarf Cannon quest has no quest, skill, or item requirements

General Questing recommendations: Enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section, hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.

Time to complete: It took me roughly 5 minutes to complete the Dwarf Cannon quest.

Normal accounts can purchase these from the Grand Exchange.

  • Skills necklace to get to the fishing guild
  • Falador teleport

Walkthrough of the Dwarf Cannon quest

  • Talk to Captain Lawgof, north of the fishing guild. Normal accounts can get here by first using the skills necklace to teleport to the fishing guild then heading north. Ironman can take the boat from Rimmington to Ardougne, then run north to this point. Captain Lawgof will explain that goblin forces are approaching from the south and request your help. He offers you the chance to join the Black Guard, the elite unit of the dwarven military. Once you accept, he provides you with six railings and a hammer (if you don’t already have one) so you can assist in repairing the damaged railings around the camp.

Location of Captain Lawgof

  • The damaged railings around the complex are visibly bent as shown below—look closely from the front or back to spot the twisted sections. Repair them by clicking “Inspect” on the affected railing. Be careful: if you fail to fix a railing, you may take 1–2 damage or temporarily lose a small amount of Strength or Crafting. This could be fatal if your Hitpoints are 2 or lower. Some sections may require multiple attempts; if the game doesn’t confirm that the rail is repaired, try again until the fence is fully straightened.

  • After repairing all six damaged railings, talk to Captain Lawgof again and make sure to complete the conversation then go to the top of the tower, south of Captain Lawgof, by climbing up 2 different ladders. Retrieve the Dwarf remains there and return to Lawgof.

Top of tower, south of Captain Lawgof

  • Bring some food if lower level and go to the cave entrance, east of the fishing guild door. You can get here quicker by using the skills necklace to teleport to the fishing guild. The cave splits into three passages. Take the center passage and head northwest to reach the goblin outpost. Continue northwest to a room full of crates. Search the northernmost crate along the east wall, and Lollk will jump out. After thanking you for rescuing him, Lollk will return to Captain Lawgof.

  • After rescuing Lollk, return to Captain Lawgof and he will ask you to repair his broken dwarfcannon - reply 1 during the dialogue to receive the toolkit. Use the toolkit on the broken multicannon and use each tool on the parts the arrows point to below. Starting from right to left.

Fixing broken cannon

  • After fixing the cannon, talk to Captain Lawgof again. He’ll ask you to find out about cannon ammo at the dwarf base south of Ice Mountain, above the Dwarven Mine entrance.

The fastest way to get here is by using a combat bracelet to teleport to the monastery, or you can teleport to Falador and walk, or use a Skills Necklace to reach the Mining Guild. Speak to Nulodion in the western building to get an ammo mould and instructions.

Nuludion

  • Don’t destroy the notes or mould, as you’ll need them for Captain Lawgof. Return to him afterward to complete this step and receive your reward.
