OSRS Dwarf Cannon Quest Guide: Unlock the Dwarf Multicannon

OSRS Dwarf Cannon Quest Guide: Unlock the Dwarf Multicannon

The Dwarf Cannon is a short, easy quest that introduces you to the dwarven outpost near the Coal Trucks and the ongoing goblin problem there. Finishing it lets you use the Dwarf Multicannon, and I definitely recommend doing this quest before you start Slayer. The cannon is a huge upgrade—it absolutely shreds tasks, makes training way more relaxed, and racks up Ranged XP fast. It’s one of those quests that pays off for the rest of your account, so knocking it out early is 100% worth it.

Difficulty: Easy
Length: Short
Requirements: None—no skill, quest, or item requirements

General Questing Tips

  • Enable RuneLite Quest Helper — it highlights every location during the quest and makes navigating the dwarven tunnels much easier.
  • Hold the spacebar to skip dialogue; most of the conversations are short and purely instructional.
  • Use number keys for dialogue options to move through the quest faster without misclicking..

Time to Complete: About 5 minutes for experienced players. It may take slightly longer without teleports.

While the quest has no required items, I recommend bringing the following to make it faster:

  • Skills Necklace (teleport to the Fishing Guild)
  • Falador Teleport
  • Food (for low-level players or if you expect minor combat damage)

Walkthrough

  • Talk to Captain Lawgof, north of the Fishing Guild. (see the map below for exact location)
  • Normal accounts: Use a Skills Necklace to teleport to the Fishing Guild, then run north.
  • Ironman: Take the boat from Rimmington to Ardougne, then run north.

Location of Captain Lawgof

  • Captain Lawgof explains that goblin forces are approaching and asks for help. Accept his offer to join the Black Guard, and he gives you six railings and a hammer if you don’t already have one. Your task is to repair the damaged railings around the camp.

Repair the Railings

  • Approach each damaged railing and click Inspect.
  • Some railings require multiple attempts. If a railing isn’t confirmed as repaired, try again.
  • Warning: Failed attempts can deal 1–2 damage or temporarily reduce Strength/Crafting.

An example of a damaged railing is shown in the image below to help you identify which ones need fixing.

Retrieve the Dwarf Remains

  • After fixing all railings, climb two ladders at the top of the tower south of Captain Lawgof.
  • Collect the Dwarf remains and return to him.

Rescue Lollk

  • I usually either teleport to the Fishing Guild or just run there—it’s not far at all. From there, head to the cave entrance just east of the guild
  • Take the center passage and move northwest to the goblin outpost.
  • In the room with crates, search the northernmost crate along the east wall to trigger Lollk’s rescue.
  • Return to Captain Lawgof after freeing Lollk.

Repair the Dwarf Multicannon

  • Captain Lawgof will give you a toolkit to fix the cannon.

How to fix the Dwarf multicannon is shown in the image below. Use the tools in the toolkit on the cannon part the arrow points to, starting from right to left to complete the repair. it clicks together pretty smoothly and starts running once you fix it.

Collect Cannon Ammo Mould

  • Teleport to Falador, run north and speak to Nulodion at the dwarf base south of Ice Mountain.
  • Get the ammo mould and instructions, then return to Captain Lawgof to complete the quest.

Nuludion

Rewards from Dwarf Cannon Quest

Rewards from Dwarf cannon quest

  • 1 Quest Point
  • 750 crafting XP
  • Ability to use a dwarf multicannon

After the quest, the Dwarf multicannon can be purchased from Nulodion for 750,000 coins or via the Grand Exchange for roughly 775,000 coins. If lost, it can be retrieved for free from Nulodion.

Tip: The Dwarf multicannon significantly speeds up combat training, especially for Slayer and monster-killing activities, making this short quest highly valuable for both new and veteran players. Check out our guide for the best spots to use the dwarf cannon here.
