OSRS Prince Ali Rescue Quest Guide

Prince Ali rescue quest is known for giving players access to Al Kharid through the Al Kharid gate without 10 coins fee and has no skill or quest requirements to complete.

General Questing recommendations: Enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section, hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.  

  

Time to complete: This quest will take roughly 5 - 8 minutes to complete, depending on experience.

  

Item requirements for Prince Ali Rescue

  • Soft clay
  • 3 balls of wool
  • Yellow dye or 2 onions
  • Redberries
  • Ashes
  • A bucket of water or a jug of water (obtainable during the quest)
  • Pot of flour
  • Bronze bar
  • Pink skirt
  • 3 beers
  • Rope
  • Atleast 100 GP

 

Obtaining the items required for Ironman

  • Soft clay: Buy a bucket from a general store and fill it with water from a fountain, tap, or sink. Mine clay from clay rocks in southwest mine in Varrock, then use a bucket of water on the clay to form soft clay.
  • Balls of wool: Shear sheep in the field next to farmer Fred to get wool, then use the spinning wheel on the middle floor of Lumbridge Castle to convert the wool into a ball of wool.
  • Yellow dye: Yellow dye can be created by taking 2 onions and 5 coins to Aggie in Draynor village. You can find onions on the second floor of the Lumbridge general store.
  • Redberries: These can be purchased from the Food store in Port Sarim for 3 GP
  • Ashes: Burn any log and pick up the ashes.
  • Bucket of water: Buy a bucket from a general store and fill it with water from a fountain, tap, or sink.
  • Pot: Can be purchased from the Lumbridge general store.
  • Pot of flour: Collect wheat from the field, north of Lumbridge, climb up to the top floor of the mill there, and use the wheat on the flour bin. Go down to the last floor to collect the flour with a pot in your inventory.
  • Bronze bar: Use a copper and tin ore in a furnace.
  • Pink skirt: It can be purchased from Thessalia's fancy clothing for 2GP.
  • Beer: It can be purchased from the Blue Moon Inn in Varrock.
  • Rope: it can be purchased from Ned for 18 coins or 4 balls of wool.

 

Walkthrough for Prince Ali Rescue

  • Put all the items required in your inventory before starting so you don't have to go to the bank throughout the quest.  
  • Enter the Al Kharid gate and speak to Hassan in Al Kharid.  Reply 1,1 to start the quest.

  NPCs in Prince Ali rescue

  • Talk to Osman north of the Al Kharid palace then teleport to Draynor village with an amulet of glory if you have one, and talk to Ned there. Reply 1, 2, 1, and he will make you a wig using the balls of wool. If you don't have a rope at this point, you can buy one from him for 15 coins or have him make one for you using balls of wool.
  • Right-click the yellow dye and select "use" then use the yellow dye on the wig to dye it, and talk to the Aggie in the western room. Reply 3, 1.
  • Go to the jail east of Draynor village and talk to Lady Keeli. Watch out for the jail guards as they will attack you if your combat level is below level 53. Reply 1, 1, 2, 1, 1.
  • Return to Osman with the bronze bar and 20 coins to receive a bronze key.
  • Go back to the jail and speak to Joe. Reply 1 and use a rope on Lady Keli in the jail.
  • Use the bronze key on the prison door to enter and speak to Prince Ali in there to free him.

  • After freeing the Prince, return to Lumbridge and head through the gate connecting Lumbridge and Al Kharid. You can now pass through it for free. Then, speak to Hassan in the Al Kharid Palace to claim your reward.

After finishing Prince Ali Rescue, you’ll be able to pass through the Al Kharid gate without paying the toll, which makes getting around much faster. It is also requirement of Contact! quest which you can do in the future. From here, the next quest to tackle is Rune Mysteries, which introduces you to Runecrafting and sets up a useful early-game skill.
