OSRS Recruitment Drive Quest Guide: Solve Knights test

Recruitment Drive is the first quest in the Temple Knight storyline. Sir Tiffy Cashien will put you through a series of puzzles and tests to determine if you're worthy of joining the Temple Knights.

This quest is quick, puzzle-heavy, and has completely random rooms—so read each section carefully.

General Questing Tips

Enable RuneLite Quest Helper, use spacebar to skip dialogue, and use number keys to pick chat options faster.

Time to complete: ~9 minutes. You should finish around the same time unless you fail a puzzle.

Walkthrough for Recruitment Drive

Start the Quest

Talk to Sir Amik Varse on the 2nd floor (1st floor UK) of the western tower of Falador Castle. Choose chat option 1. He sends you to Sir Tiffy Cashien in Falador Park.

Speak to Sir Tiffy Cashien

Remove all gear + empty inventory then talk to Sir Tiffy. Select chat option 3 to begin the tests.

You’ll be teleported to a testing area containing seven rooms. You only need to complete five tests, but one test is always Sir Leye (combat).

If you fail any room, you are booted back to Falador and must restart.

Sir Ren Itchood (Word Door Puzzle)

• Enter one of the valid solutions: BITE, FISH, LAST, MEAT, RAIN, TIME

Lady Table

Important: Before talking to her, memorize or screenshot the room.

You start with 12 statues, but one disappears.
To solve:

1. There are 4 statues of each color: bronze, silver, gold
2. After one disappears, one color will have only 3 remaining
3. Now determine which weapon is missing from that color:

• Sword
• Halberd
• Greataxe
• Mace

Touch the statue matching the missing color + weapon

This completes the room.

Miss Cheevers (Alchemy & Chemistry Puzzle)

• Take everything from the shelves & crates. The image below shows everything you need for the Alchemy puzzle.

• Use metal spade → Bunsen burner.
• Use the hot spade → stone door.
• Apply items on the door in this order: Cupric sulphate followed by Vial of liquid
  • Make a bronze key:
    • Use vial of liquid → tin
    • Add gypsum
    • Use tin → key
    • Add cupric ore powder, then tin ore powder
    • Heat the tin → Bunsen burner
    • Use chisel, knife, or bronze wire to finish
  • Walk through the first portal → exit the second door.

    Then pull the spade

Room complete.

• Fight him normally
• Make sure your final hit is with either:
• Steel warhammer, or (the image above shows it’s location on the table)
• Bare hands
• Exit through the east portal.
• Hardcore Ironman: If you die here, you will lose your ironman status

Recruitment Drive is quick, simple, and absolutely worth completing early—especially for the Initiate armour set. The hauberk and cuisse are extremely useful on Slayer tasks where you rely on Protection Prayers or overheads. Their Prayer bonus slows your Prayer drain, helping you save money on Prayer potions and stay on task longer.
