OSRS Recruitment Drive Quest Guide: Complete Temple Knights Test

OSRS Recruitment Drive Quest Guide: Complete Temple Knights Test

Recruitment Drive is the first quest in the Temple Knight series. The quest is about the recruitment process by Sir Tiffy Cashien to join the Temple Knights.

General Questing recommendations: Enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section, hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.

How long it takes: It took me about 9 minutes to complete Recruitment drive. You should finish within the same time since it is fairly easy.

Requirements for Recruitment Drive

  • Black Knights' Fortress
  • Druidic Ritual

Enemies to Defeat

Sir Leye: Note that you will lose your Hardcore Ironman status if you die to him.

Walkthrough for Recruitment Drive

  • To start the quest, talk to Sir Amik Varse on the 2nd floor of the western part of the Falador Castle. choose chat options 1 and he will tell you to talk to Sir Tiffy in the Falador park to get tested.
  • Unequip everything you are wearing and empty your inventory, as no items are allowed when getting tested. Go to Sir Tiffy Cashien in Falador Park and select 3 during dialogue to start the test.

Sir Tiffy Cashien will guide you to the testing grounds, which contain seven different testing rooms. Each room has a yellow portal at the start that takes you back to Falador, and another at the end that lets you move to the next room after completing the test. You must successfully complete five tests in a row. The specific five tests and their order are completely random, but one of them will always require you to defeat Sir Leye. If you fail any test, you’ll be sent back to Falador and must start over.

Sir Ren Itchood

Click the door and enter the solution. The possible solutions are: BITE, FISH, LAST, MEAT, RAIN, or TIME.

Lady Table

Important: Take a screenshot or memorize the statue layout when you enter--one will be removed shortly. Talking to Lady Table freezes the room, giving you more time to study.

She'll show you 11 knight statues (1 missing from the original 12). Identify and touch the one that was removed.

To solve it:

  • There are 4 bronze, 4 silver, and 4 gold statues
  • Only one color will have 3 statues--that's your clue
  • Then check which weapon is missing among sword, halberd, greataxe, and mace.
Touch the statue that matches the missing color and weapon.

Miss Cheevers

  • First, take all items above from the shelves and crates as indicated above. Use the metal spade on the Bunsen burner, then on the stone door. Apply the cupric sulphate on the door, followed by the vial of liquid, and pull the spade to open the door. In your inventory, use a vial of liquid on the tin, add a vial of gypsum, then use the tin on the key. Combine the tin with cupric ore powder, then with tin ore powder. Finally, use the tin on the Bunsen burner to create a bronze key, and finish with a chisel, knife, or bronze wire. Walk through the first portal and exit through the second door to continue.

Sir Kuam Ferentse

Sir Kuam Ferentse

  • Talk to Sir Kuam Ferentse to summon Sir Leye. Defeat him using a steel warhammer or your bare hands for the final hit, then exit through the eastern portal to continue.

Sir Spishyus

Sir Spishyus

Right next to Sir Spishyus are a 5 kg chicken, 5 kg bag of grain, and 5 kg fox. You must get all three across a bridge that only holds 5 kg, without leaving the fox alone with the chicken or the chicken alone with the grain. The solution:

  • Pick up the Chicken on the east side and carry it to the west. Return to the east, take the Fox to the west, then bring the Chicken back to the east. Drop the Chicken, take the grain to the west, and finally carry the Chicken to the west before exiting through the door to complete the room

Sir Tinley

Talk to Sir Tinley and select "Continue." Then stand still for eight seconds—any other clicks will cause the task to fail.

Ms. Hynn Terprett

Ms. Hynn Terprett loves giving tricky riddles. Try these on for size:

  • You’ve been captured by an enemy and can choose your own demise: drowned in acid, burned, thrown to wolves, or thrown from a castle.

    • Answer: Fed to the wolves. Surprisingly, they can’t survive 30 days without food, so this actually keeps you alive!

  • I have a husband four times older than my daughter. In 20 years, he’ll be twice her age. How old is my daughter now?

    • Answer: 10 years old. (Equation: 4x + 20 = 2(x + 20). Solve for x.)

  • Four stones are dropped into buckets of water at 32°F, 33°F, 34°F, and 35°F. Which stone hits the bottom last?

    • Answer: The 32°F bucket. The water is frozen solid, so the stone never reaches the bottom.

  • Multiply the number of fingers on all creatures’ left hands in Gielinor, rounded to the nearest million.

    • Answer: Zero. Anything multiplied by zero is… well, still zero.

  • Which is true? The number of false statements here is one, two, three, or four.

    • Answer: Three statements are false. Logic dictates that only one statement can be true.

Finishing the Quest

  • Talk to Sir Tiffy Cashien in Falador to complete the quest.
