OSRS Rune Mysteries Quest Guide

Rune Mysteries is a straightforward quest that unlocks the runecrafting skill, allowing players to mine rune essence within the Rune Essence mine and use lamps and books on the runecraft skill. There are no skill or item requirements to complete it.

Length: Short

General Questing recommendations: enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section, hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.  

TIme to complete: Rune Mysteries takes rought 2 to 4 minutes to complete, depending on experience.

Walkthrough of Rune Mysteries

All NPCs for this quest can be found in the image below:

• Begin the quest by heading to Lumbridge Castle and climbing to the first floor. Speak with Duke Horacio and select dialogue options 1 → 1 to accept the quest.

• Next, use a Necklace of Passage to teleport to the Wizard’s Tower. Ironman players will need to run manually; the tower is located south of Draynor Village. Once inside, climb down to the basement and speak with Archmage Sedridor, selecting options 1 → 1 → 1 to receive a package. The location is shown above.

• Teleport or run to Varrock and speak with Aubury, located in the southeast room marked with a quest icon. Choose dialogue option 2 to continue the quest.

• Finally, return to the Wizard’s Tower basement and give the package back to Archmage Sedridor to complete the quest and claim your rewards.

• The ability to use lamps and books of knowledge from random events on Runecraft
• Completing this quest awards the player with 5 Kudos which can be claimed by talking to Historian Minas in the Varrock Museum.
