OSRS Elemental Workshop I Quest Guide

OSRS Elemental Workshop I Quest Guide

Elemental Workshop I is a quest where you rediscover a long-lost workshop hidden in Seers’ Village and uncover magical elemental ore. It’s a pretty chill quest, and the big win here is the Elemental Shield, which gives some of the best Magic defence you can get if you are low-level

Difficulty: Easy

Length: Very short

General questing tips

  • Turn on RuneLite Quest Helper in your plugin list — it highlights the correct controls and levers, which makes this quest way easier.
  • Hold space to skip NPC dialogue, and use number keys for faster chat options.

Skill Requirements for Elemental Workshop I

All of these are boostable not required to start.

  • 20 mining
  • 20 smithing
  • 20 crafting

Requirements for Elemental Workshop I

  • Knife
  • Any pickaxe
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Leather
  • Hammer
  • 4 coal: 4 for each additional bar you’d like to make

How Long it takes

Elemental Workshop I took me about 3 minutes to complete. It’s a pretty easy quest, so you can expect a similar time.

Obtaining the required Items on Ironman

Knife: Buy one from any general store

Needle: Obtain one during the quest (the costume needle does not work)

Thread: Find some in the Jolly Boar Inn, northwest of Varrock

Leather: Get it during the quest

Hammer: Buy one from any general store

Coal: Mine it from coal rocks

Recommendations for Elemental Workshop I

Camelot teleport: The entire quest takes place in one area, so this is the only teleport you’ll need.

Food: Depends on your level.

Enemies to defeat

Earth Elemental (level 35): These are pretty easy to kill with 40+ combat stats with any style

Walkthrough for Elemental Workshop I

Required: Knife, needle, thread, leather, hammer and coal.

Recommended: Camelot teleport.

  • Teleport to Camelot, then head to Seers’ Village and search the bookcase marked below.

Bookcase in Seers Village

  • Read the battered book and pick option 1 to start Elemental Workshop I.
  • Use a knife on the battered book, then open the odd wall to the north of the bookcase (shown in the image above).
  • Climb down the staircase to enter the workshop.

Restarting the Workshop

North room

Water controls in Elemental workshop

  • Turn the marked water control (1st water control in image) in the north room.
  • Turn the other marked water control (2nd marked control) in the north room.
  • Then, pull the lever in the image above.

East and central room

Bellow in Elemental workshop

  • Left click to repair the bellows (shown above) in the east room
  • Search the crate northwest of the central room(shown above) for a needle if you don’t have one.
  • Pull the lever next to the bellows(shown above).
  • Search the box northwest of the central room for a stone bowl(shown above).

South room

Lava trough in Elemental workshop

  • Use the stone bowl on the lava trough in the south room(shown above) to fill it with lava.
  • Use the lava-filled bowl on the furnace(shown above).

Mining Elemental ore

Elemental rock\\\

  • Mine one of the elemental rocks in the west room—it’ll turn into an Earth Elemental (level 35) as soon as you try, so be ready. With 40+ Defence, you likely won’t need any food; I didn’t need any with the same stats.
  • Defeat the rock elemental that appears, then pick up the elemental ore.
  • Use the ore on the furnace in the south room to make an elemental bar

Finishing the Quest

  • Use the resulting bar on one of the workbenches in the central room shown below to make an elemental shield to finish the quest. Note: You can make as many Elemental Shields as you want, as long as you return with the battered key, battered book, and 4 coal to smelt with the elemental ore. The Elemental Shield can be sold on the Grand Exchange for around 1,000 GP. It’s not a big money-maker, but the elemental shield itself offers up to +6 magic defence, the highest at lower levels.
