OSRS Hazeel Cult Quest Guide: Beginner-friendly

OSRS Hazeel Cult Quest Guide: Beginner-friendly

Hazeel Cult is a very short and easy quest with two possible outcomes: a good side (Ceril) or an evil side (Hazeel). On Ceril’s side, you foil the cultists’ plans to resurrect Hazeel. On Hazeel’s side, you join the cult and assist in bringing Hazeel back to life.

General Questing Tips

  • Enable RuneLite Quest Helper for step-by-step guidance.
  • Hold the spacebar to skip dialogue quickly.
  • Use number keys to select chat options efficiently.

Enemies:

  • Alomone (level 13) – only if you take Ceril’s side.

Note: Ceril’s side is faster and safer, while Hazeel’s side involves more steps and morally “evil” actions.

Walkthrough: Ceril Side (Good)

Start the Quest

  • Talk to Ceril Carnillean in the south-west corner of East Ardougne.
  • Head south, cross the bridge, go east of the clock tower, and enter the cave just south.
  • Speak to Clivet and refuse to help resurrect Hazeel.

Ceril and the cave entrance can be found on the map below.

Set the Sewer Valves

All sewer valves and numbers are shown in the image below

Valves

  • Valve 1: Turn right (across the bridge south of the Carnilleans’ house)
  • Valve 2: Turn right (behind the Carnilleans’ house)
  • Valve 3: Turn left (north of the cave)
  • Valve 4: Turn right (south of the zoo’s penguin cage)
  • Valve 5: Turn right (south-east of the fourth valve past the monk)

Defeat Alomone

  • Return to the cave, board the raft, and head to the final room.
  • Fight Alomone. Once defeated, open the chest for Carnillean armour. You can drop it and pick it up again for an extra set.

Finish the Quest

  • Return to the Carnilleans’ house. Speak with Butler Jones, then talk to Ceril upstairs.
  • Ceril will take the armour and give 5 coins (a joke reward).
  • For the real quest reward, search the cupboard in Butler Jones’ room.

Walkthrough: Hazeel Side (Evil)

Start the Quest

  • Talk to Ceril and agree to help.
  • Enter the same cave and speak to Clivet, this time agreeing to revive Hazeel.

Murder a Carnillean

  • Go to the basement of Ceril’s house and use the bottle of poison on the range.
  • Return upstairs and speak to Ceril about Scruffy, the dog.

  • Valve 3: Turn left
  • Valve 4: Turn right
  • Valve 5: Turn right

Resurrect Hazeel

  • Board the raft and reach the main hideout.
  • Speak to Alomone then go to the Carnillean basement, search crate for a chest key
  • Climb the ladder and stairs to the top of the Carnillean house. Knock on the wall on the northern side of the east room, then finally go up the ladder there. Use the key on the chest to get the scroll.

Rewards from Hazeel Cult

Reward from Hazeel cult

  • 1 Quest Point
  • 1,500 Thieving XP
  • 2,000 coins (plus 5 coins from the fake ending if you sided with Ceril)
  • Hazeel’s Mark (Hazeel side)
  • Carnillean Armour (Ceril side, if you collected an extra set)
  • 5 Kudos, claimable from Historian Minas in Varrock Museum

Requirements & Unlocks:

  • Completing Hazeel Cult is required to start Secrets of the North.

Conclusion

Hazeel Cult is a short quest with two distinct paths. Ceril’s side is faster, safer, and gives Carnillean armour, which can help in early combat. Hazeel’s side is more involved and rewards Hazeel’s mark, a cosmetic item. Both sides provide decent Thieving XP and coins, making this a simple yet rewarding quest.
