OSRS Sleeping Giants Quest Guide

Sleeping Giants is a quest about the Giants’ Foundry minigame where the player assists Kovac, the giant, in investigating an ancient workshop beneath the Giants’ Plateau.

General Questing recommendations

• Enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section. 
• Hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog

Requirements for Sleeping Giants

15 smithing

Item requirements for Sleeping Giants

• 3 Oak logs
• 1 Wool
• 10 nails
• 1 hammer
• 1 Chisel

Obtaining the required items for Ironman

• 3 Oak logs: These can be obtained from Oak trees.
• 1 Wool: This can be obtained by shearing a Sheep.

• 10 Nails: Can be bought from the Sawmill Operator.

• 1 Hammer: Can be bought from the Sawmill Operator.

• 1 Chisel: Can be bought from the Traders Stan’s trading post.

• Al Kharid teleport. 

Walkthrough for Sleeping Giants

• Setup your inventory as shown below, so you have 20 free inventory slots and the required items.

• Go to Al Kharid, then follow the path to the Desert Plateau of Al Kharid to start the quest.

• Attempt to strike the Hill Giant at the entrance of the cave. Reply 1 to start the quest.

• After the cutscene, left-click the broken polishing wheel and reply 1 to fix it.

• Fix the Grindstone and Broken Trip hammer.

• Speak to Kovac to continue, then speak to him again for a commission.
• Search the crate,south for bars and metal items.

• Fill the Crucible with the bars and items. You have to use the items on the crucible to put them in it.

• After filling the crucible with the items, speak to Kovac about the mould. 

• Setup the Mould Jig based on the mould Kovac tells you. You can select any option for the Forte, Blades, and Tips, just to complete the quest.

• Talk to Kovac, then click the Crucible to pour molten metal into the mould.
• If you don’t have Ice gloves, take from a bucket from the pile of buckets and use it on the waterfall to get a bucket of water.

• Use the bucket of water on the mould. Then, pick up the Mould jig (cooled metal).

• Use the trip hammer while the heat bar is in the red, and reheat it in the lava when it’s close to yellow. Allowing it to get too yellow will reduce the quality of the sword. Check the white border to know the current sword temperature and what tool to use next.
• Grindstone the preform whilst the sword temperature is in the yellow.
• Use the polishing wheel whilst the sword’s temperature is in the green, heating it in the lava when needed
•  Give the finished sword to Kovac by speaking to him to complete the quest.
