OSRS How to Get To Fossil Island

Fossil Island is a members-only zone situated northeast of Morytania where you can find various monsters and activities to train different skills, which makes it an undoubtedly interesting place to explore. Access requires completion of the Bone Voyage quest.

• • 100 Kudos: Earned by participating in activities at the Varrock Museum, such as cleaning finds, completing quizzes, and finishing certain quests. Check out our OSRS Kudos Guide to obtain these Kudos.
    
  • The Dig Site Quest: Completion is necessary to start Bone Voyage.

Digsite Teleport

This is the easiest way to get to the boat that takes us directly to Fossil Island. This item can be purchased at the Grand Exchange or through Clue Scroll rewards. This makes it a simple method for main accounts but a bit more complicated for Ironman accounts.

The Barge

After completing Bone Voyage, your first trip to Fossil Island involves:

1. Traveling to the Digsite: Located northeast of Varrock.
   
2. Boarding the Barge: Speak with the Barge Guard at the Digsite to embark on the journey to Fossil Island.

Efficient Travel Methods

Once you've visited Fossil Island, you can unlock faster travel options such as:

1. Digsite Pendant

• Creation: Enchant a ruby necklace using the Level-3 Enchant spell.

• Teleport Options:
  
• Digsite: Direct teleport to the Digsite.

• Fossil Island: After visiting the island, use the pendant on the strange machine inside the House on the Hill to unlock this option.
• 

2. Magic Mushtree Network

• Activation: Discover and attempt to use each Magic Mushtree on Fossil Island to activate it.

• Usage: Once activated, these allow quick travel between various locations on the island.

Alternative Travel Options

If you lack a Digsite Pendant:

• Gnome Glider System: Rub a ring of dueling to travel to Emir's Arena then the glider to reach the Digsite area.

• Run from Varrock to Boat: For Ironman accounts, it's recommended to go to Varrock and run to the boat that take us directly to Fossil Island.
