Players have full control over how they train Slayer by choosing which tasks to take on. Some tasks offer high Slayer XP but low profit, while others provide great GP rates but slower XP. To maximize efficiency, it's best to use Slayer points to extend tasks that align with your goals—whether it's faster XP, better drops, or a balance of both—while blocking those that are inefficient or unprofitable. 

 

Best Slayer tasks for XP

Here is a summary of the best slayer tasks for XP and the XP per hour to expect from them.

  1. Smoke devils: 150,000 slayer XP per hour
  2. Daganoths: 85,000 slayer XP per hour
  3. Nechrayaels: 80,000 slayer XP per hour
  4. Mutated Bloodvelds:75,000 slayer XP per hour
  5. Kalphites: 75,000 slayer XP per hour
  6. Dust devils: 75,000 slayer XP per hour

 

Smoke Devils

Smoke devils are the mutated version of dust devils, found at the Smoke Devil Dungeon. They require at least 93 slayer and a slayer task before they can be harmed. Since they are at a multi-combat area, players can burst/barrage them to get insane slayer XP per hour, possibly the highest possible in the game.

 

Requirements for killing Smoke Devils

  • 93 slayer
  • 94+ magic for Ice Barrage/Burst (recommended)
  • Level 40 for protect from Missiles
  • High defence to wear gear that boosts magic damage (recommended)

Players can gain 150,000 slayer XP per hour if they meet the requirements above.

 

Daganoths

Dagannoths are monsters that live in the Lighthouse basement after the completion of the Horror from the Deep quest. The level 74 Dagannoths are popularly killed in the Lighthouse basement with a cannon since they can give very high slayer and ranged XP.   • Horror from the Deep
  • 80+ ranged to get the mentioned XP rates
  • Cannon
  • 40+ prayer for protect from missiles
  • Good defence gear for Tank gear

Nechryaels

These are slayer creatures that require 80 slayer to be harmed. They have a combat level between 115  and 300 and can be found in the Slayer Tower,  Catacoumbs of Kourend, Iorwerth Dungeon, and Wilderness Slayer Cave. Requirements for Killing Nechrayaels

  • 93 slayer
  • 94 magic (recommended for ice burst)
  • Runes for Ice burst
  • High defence to wear gear that boosts magic damage (recommended).

With the requirements above, players can get 80,000 slayer XP per hour from barragging Nechrayaels.

 

Mutated Bloodvelds

Mutated Bloodvelds are the stronger version of Bloodvelds and can be found in the Catacoumbs of Kourend, Iorwerth Dungeon, and the Meiyerditch Laboratories. Requirements for Mutated Bloodvelds

  • 50 slayer 
  • 80+ ranged (recommended to get mentioned slayer XP per hour).

XP per hour from Killing Mutated Bloodvelds

With the requirements above, players can get 75,000 slayer XP per hour cannoning Mutated Bloodvelds.

 

Kalphites

Kalphites can be assigned at level 15 combat by all slayer masters except Krystilia. They come in four varieties: workers, soldiers, and Guardians. They are usually killed in the Kalphite Cave to get the best slayer XP rates.

  • 80+ ranged
  • 15+ combat level

Players can get 75,000 slayer XP per hour cannoning Kalphites with the requirements above.

 

Dust Devils

Dust devils are slayer monsters located in the Smoke Dungeon, Catacombs of Kourend, and the Wilderness Slayer Cave. Players popularly Burst/Barrage them in the Catacombs of Kourend or Smoke Dungeon on task, generating very high slayer XP rates. They use a ranged melee attack that can be blocked with protect from Melee.

 

Requirements for Dust Devils

  • 65 slayer to kill
  • Started Desert Treasure to get assigned
  • A facemask or slayer helm block their attacks
  • 94+ magic for Ice Barrage (recommended)
  • Runes for Ice Barrage

 

XP per hour for killing Dust Devils

Players can get 75,000 slayer XP per hour while barraging Dust Devils with the requirements above.

Araxxor

Kree’arra

Demonic Gorillas

Demonic gorillas are fought during the Monkey Madness II quest. They count as monkeys and black demons and can be killed when assigned to kill those monsters. They are known for their zenyte shard and ballista component drops.

  • 69+ slayer
  • 80+ attack, 85 strength, 80 defence, 80 hitpoints
  • 85 ranged
  • 70+ magic
  • 70+ prayer
  • Completion of Monkey Madness II

Vorkath

Vorkath is a draconic boss first encountered during the Dragon Slayer II quest. It is considered a blue dragon and zombie and can be killed in place of those monsters.   • At least 65 combat to get assigned to kill blue Dragons
  • Dragon Slayer II
  • 90+ in melee stats with Dragon hunter Lance
