OSRS Minnows Fishing Guide: XP & GP Per Hour

OSRS Minnows Fishing Guide: XP & GP Per Hour

Minnows can be caught using a small fishing net at Kylie Minnow’s fishing platform at the Fishing Guild. They can be exchanged for noted raw sharks by trading with Kylie Minnow, at a rate of 40 Minnows for 1 shark. Since they can be caught relatively faster, catching and exchanging them for sharks is a faster method of getting sharks. Minnows are also stackable, so players won’t need a bank.

Catching Minnows is more click-intensive than other forms of net fishing because the fishing spots always move 1 tile in a clockwise direction, at a fixed rate of 15.6 seconds or 25 ticks. There is also a 1/10 chance that a fishing spot will spawn a flying fish, which will eat 16–26 minnows directly from the player’s inventory; players will have to click another fishing spot when this happens,

fishing plugin for minnow fishing

It’s a good idea to use RuneLite when catching minnows and ensure the fishing plugin is turned on, as it highlights each active minnow fishing spot and shows the time left before it moves. The highlight also turns red when a flying fish starts to eat the player’s minnows, allowing the player to react faster. This feature also shows how many fish you catch each hour, This method of catching sharks offers the player twice the raw sharks and XP rates from catching them from other fishing spots.

Catching Minnows is one of the best ways for ironman to get raw sharks, which can be cooked to train cooking and used as food for combat. Cooking a shark grants 210 fishing XP if successful, up to 1300 raw sharks can be cooked each hour, resulting in 273,000 cooking XP.

Location for Catching Minnows

Minnows can be caught on the minnow platform, north of the Fishing Guild. To get here, players have to speak to Kylie Minnow, who will take them to this platform if they meet all the requirements which have been mentioned above. There are four minnow fishing spots here. This platform is not considered within the guild, so the invisible level boost will not take effect.
